Couldn't sleep. Nothing new there. Anyway, I got home a couple days ago. Brought home a head cold along with my wife picking up the flu. Nothing like going to a hospital to get sick! LOL
Of course they pulled off a few lbs of body fluid as always. My team is telling me that that will be a problem that will incress with me over time. I am now set at 1000 cc's of fluid a day. That is about 4 1/2, 8 oz drinks in 24 hours.
In the last year, I spent right around 72 days in the hospital. That was many trips along with traveling well more then 5,000 miles back and forth to the hospital. Money wise, I spent more then $10,000 just to keep alive. Thank God I had/have good health insurance. That will come to an end in May once I go on Medicare.
The bad thing is that it is like hanging off a cliff every day. We can never make any plans for tomorrow. I never know how I will be feeling from day to day. Some days, I just want to throw in the towel, were others, I just keep fighting on. At this point, my team is just patching me up every time I go into the hospital. Like throwing money into a old car. It will break you one day.
God Bless,
Paul

Hang On

I am sorry that you are in such a tough place. I spent 4 years living with cardiac arythmia and I know what you mean about not making any plans from day to day. Remember that each day new treatments are being invented and hang onto that family support. I have a wonderful husband who wouldn't give up on me and a doctor who will not give up! You will be in my prayers. Dee
And then again

Old cars are the best

Paul - keep fighting. I don't post much anymore, and check in occasionally to read interesting threads. My health has been good since I had my PM implanted. I do check every week to see how you are doing if you have posted.
Old cars are the best - lots of great memories come flooding back when you sit in them.
My mother is in the hospital, confounding doctors with no diagnosis and I am not sure she really is aware of who I am anymore. My father has been blind for a year, and is at home, separated from my mother due to her critical and declining condition. He is dying from diabetes and kidney failure, slowly each day.
When I visit my mother, I tell her stories about things my children are doing. I hope she hears them. I sit with my father almost every evening and many nights we talk about life and things from our past (the memories are both funny and sad).
Many "somebodies" need the old car named Paul - your wife, your children? Your friends. Old cars are the best - keep fighting.
I need your stories - they give me perspective, and hope, and determination. They are one of the things that help me stay brave during my parents trials.
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

If it wasn't for my family support, I wouldn't know what to do.
Take care, Paul
