Caffeine?

Here’s a question to help us get back to the business of helping others.

I’ve been told by fellow members that caffeine can contribute to Atrial Fibrillation and Flutter. Since I’ve been experiencing bouts of atrial flutter recently, I’m attempting to rid caffeine from my diet to test this recommendation and hopefully feel better.

I know caffeine is in coffee, tea and cola drinks such as Coke and Pepsi. I just recently discovered that caffei...

HI

Hi PM Pals

It is a lovely sunny day here in Tasmania. My dog is happy and Brian's eye condition seems to be improving, my depression is lifting. We all have so much to cope with. When you recieve a PM it is such a shock. It is like you are clutching at straws for confidence and support. Let us all support and love one another. It would be a very boring world if we were all alike - like clones. This site is my lifeline to the world. I log on twice a day. I am so thankful to Bl...

They say they need my heart rate at 60 not any higher for the test. Well I know how I feel with my heart that low.

PM beeping?

Has anyone ever heard of a PM making a beeping noise? I always thought it was just an ICD that beeped but the other day I could have sworn I heard a faint beeping noise. It was very quiet in the house at the time I heard it and I couldn't find anything else that it could have been. It sounded like it was right there under my nose, if you know what I mean. I don't want to call my clinic with this question, I'm afraid they will think I am crazy if I am wrong, you know?

Oh my goodness!

I was off line for a few days, and I was also dismayed at yet another problem going on. I read posts for a long time before joining the club to get information about my pacemaker. I had some unique problems and I was looking for information. Honestly, I hesitated to join, because at the time it seemed like there were a few "popular" members who used this forum to carry on some personal issues that had very little to do with the intent the club was based on. This should not be a chat line for the...

Sensitive to food/drink

I was wondering if anyone is really sensitive to eating foods high in sugar, salt and caffeine. I will notice my pacemaker working harder and feel anxious. I use to think it was just the caffeine however sprite that is caffeine free also makes me feel this way. Is it that I'm just sensitive to my body??

Considering how "upset" Elisa apparently is....

I would like to actually "see" the nasty messages. I am a skeptic and I think way too much attention has been placed on something that no one but Elisa has seen. Messages/words can be interpreted in many ways. Maybe Elisa didn't understand the meaning?

All I said was (in open discussion) was that I was not on board with her idea. Also that I would agree to disagree. Where is the problem?

I have never sent he...

Is my pacemaker kicking in?

I just started having faint flutters at the battery. Is this normal when the pacemaker kicks in as I call it? It is not in the heart, but at the battery. Anyone have or had this happen? I've had my pm since 2005 and get great reports on check ups....it had never had to kick in as of my last visit 4 months ago.
Thanks.

Anxiety about my pacemaker

I wanted to say that I am new and this site is great. I wish I would have found it 2 yrs ago but at that time I was in denial about the pacemaker. Since then I have had this fear that my battery will die or my leads will come loose and I will drop dead.
Am I the only one that feels that way? Last week I was called and told to go to the ER immediately. They had read the holter that I wore the week earlier and found several pauses. They cant beleive I never passed out. The chance of me drop...

I regret so deeply that I did not log into this group while Jack was going through his difficulties. I know now that he was not alone and not to believe doctors that tell you "everything is fine...it takes adjusting" I blame myself for not being more determined to get to the bottom of Jack's problems. If only I had you guys to talk to..... your discussions would have given me the courage to demand answers and actions. God bless one and all. Jack's wife
