Since yesterday, I feel pain just above the breasts, in the middle-left part of my chest. It's a weird feeling, a bit like the one you feel in your troath when you have a really bad cold. But I do not have a cold and feel the pain as mentioned above.
Could it be that the lead of my ICD has moved? (I got my defib on January 12th, not even a month ago.)
Thanks for you comments.

I had my first PM place in Feb. 2011 after a sinus node ablation and junctional rhythm. This PM only had one lead, and my new EP is planning to a different procedure, and wants to be able to monitor with tow leads.
I had the PM replaced and another lead added on Jan. 13th. In the past week, I have started having pain in my left arm on the side that my PM is on. I met with my EP yesterday, and he measured my arm. My left is one inch larger than my right, and he told me that it is p...

Hi folks,
I got my PM 4 days ago at the age of 38. I had been having episodes of pre syncope and palpitations for years but only very occasionally. I could go weeks or months without noticing any symptoms. This made it very difficult to diagnose, but luckily I had one episode while wearing a 24 hour tape. So it was caught and diagnosed, an SA pause or something like that, which required my new electronic friend.
But ever since my op I have been aware of noti...

Seven years ago I had my first pacemaker implanted and not long afterwards I could feel what I thought were peculiar rhythms and I reported these to my technician who said that all the checks on the pacemaker (Medtronic) were fine. I also saw the consultant who suggested that newly implanted patients were sometimes overly sensitive, so I accepted this, although I still felt that I had a problem with the pacemaker.
After several visits and tweaks to my pacemaker I gave up complaining and a...

Hi all just had a PM put in me last Monday. Long story short, went in for an ablation, primary doc told me afterwards all was good home next day. Middle of night awakened on multiple occasions with bright lights due to the other person in the room. Hence my body was flooded with adreneline. (Ret Service) Told next day I had too low of a heart rate to go home held over till Monday. HR was 39 to 40 while sleeping, NORMAL for me. NO dizziness, no fainting, no trouble breathing. I do good cardio...

I have a number of lymph nodes around ( that is the arm pit, and above collar bone) the site of my PM which is 3 years old. I have no signs of infection, and my fine needle biopsy/aspirate showed lymphoma in one node, and 'reactive' change in another. They took out the 'lymphoma node' and now the pathologist says that node is 'reactive change' only. I am wondering whether the PM is the cause?
The medical literature talks about inflammatory change in the pacemaker pocket. The men...

My father, 79 years old, coded at home once and in the hospital 3 times two weeks ago. They inserted a pacemaker and it was a lifesaver!
However, after the pacemaker, his blood pressure was high. He was kept in the hospital for 3 days as they tried to find the combination of meds to get his blood pressure under control.
They discharged him on 3 blood pressure meds - all the max dosage. Well, now, at home, his blood pressure is fine in the morning - but in the evening...

Hi,
I have put several questions on here about problems that I am having with my pacemaker/heart and have gotten really good replies so I thought I would give this a shot too. Besides having a pacemaker, I also have diabetes (Type 1), Rheumatoid Arthritis, Migraines (that have been getting worse and worse lately), Insomnia, Fibromyalgia, Depression and Anxiety. Needless to say, I have to take a lot of different medicines and when I go to the endocrinologist she only wants to look at...

I haven't been on here in several weeks. I have been so busy and just haven't had time. I will give a little background information: I had a very rapid heartrate (in the 190s) and was on the maximum dosage of metoprolol and it wasn't working. I had my heart ablated 3 times and the third time, it slowed my heart down too much so I had a pacemaker implanted. This wass all in 2007/2008. Since then, things have been going great until a few weeks ago. My cardio left me on the metoprolol becaus...

Hi Pacer friends-
Haven't been here in awhile because all has been good until this week. I had my pacemaker put in 9 months ago diagnosis- neurocardiogenic syncope. Prior to placement, I was light headed several times and then passed out 3 times and my heart stopped. After the placement, my dr. put me on metoprolol 25mg. He does it to prevent the vasovagel response. I was on it for 7 months (didn't like the 'slug drug') and then I talked to my general dr. to see if I could go off and...

They bagged me, then antitote, the pain continued. I was sent home from the ICU yesterday, still out of breath, need help to sit up. I have the same sensat...

My ongoing story:
I had debilitating AF for 2/3 years. Decided off my own bat to get ablated. This was very successful but not perfect, still the odd episode. A Reveal monitor then revealed heart stopping for 4 secs about twice a week. Did ablation cause this I dont know. My cardio then said I should have a pacemaker as flatlining is dangerous especially if driving. I now have the PM and unusually my heart rate has gone up from being between 50 and 60 to being between 70 and 80. Card...

hello everyone,
In reference to this Guidant Canadian Law suit, I to was received notice in the mail advising of certain models of pacemakers not making the cut. I received this letter in 2010 which was 8 years after my father had received a pacemaker in which I believe killed him a month later. Today Jan 26, 2012 is the 10th anniversary of his death.
I to have been looking for any new news on this law suit & cannot seem to find anything at all. If someone sees or hear...

So we saw mom's EP today and they aolved the fluttering she as feeling by reducing the voltage in her PM but now we have a different issue. Shes onlyhad the PM (first one ever) in since last Thursday and initially her HR and BP were perfect, now her BP is ok but her HR is ranging from 100-130 at rest. Dr is talking about her taking Toprol XL. Soooo frustrated! Went from too low a HR pre-pacemaker to too high post-PM, what the heck!

I have AFib. I have been on Multaq and it did not work when I exercised. I am anticipating with dread that I will be advised to have a AV node ablation. I know that sometimes the ventricle does not react well after that and then there is nothing one can do. Does anyone know the risks? I already have a pacemaker.
