Nikki: I've re-read all your posts. You are what, about a month into being a PM host? All sorts of things can happen to you; many of them unusual; some unpleasant; some depressing; all of them are NOT common, or NORMAL.
In one post, you mentioned a sense of "Impending doom..." Now that is a feeling one gets when suffering anxiety or depression. That can usually be tied back to something physical that is wrong - like a setting not being correct for YOU; or - something happening repeatedly that is unpleasant & unexpected. Like the "Daily" shocks you feel each night. We do not all have that occur, but as one comment said, it may be a daily self test that you sense. Some people do, some don't. Your Dr. owes it to you to check it out & see if that is the cause of the daily event.
If something is repeatedly happening & is unpleasant, it can very easily cause anxiety, followed SOMETIMES by depression. I've been there w/ the anxiety & the sense of impending doom - but have never gotten to the depression stage. It is NOT fun, but very real & should be taken care of. We all react individually to these sort of things, and, they are very real & should be addressed by your Dr.
THe best way to treat your symptoms is to learn what causes them - your Dr. should be able to help you there - understanding them & learning how to accept them - till someone can fix them.
I've said it many times here - there is a psychological aspect to every illness. Anxiety is one that commonly goes w/ PM hosting. It has its basis in something physical, but must be countered by something mental. You are NOT crazy; you are not just another hysterical woman. Face it - you only have ONE heart, & it must function correctly for you to live. All of us here have some function of our hearts that is not correct. It can range from very minor to very serious. Regardless of which it is, it can easily prey on one's mind & cause anxiety. IF you read a lot of the posts here, it is obvious that a significant number of us have these kinds of problems, so you are NOT alone, nor are you a "Weak" person. You have asked a common question.
You, & you, alone have the key to recovery from this side effect of hosting a PM. Learn about your problems; agitate w/ your Dr. for explanations; learn to understand what is happening to you; sort out that which can hurt you from that which is just annoying; concentrate on getting the issues that can hurt you fixed; learn how to live w/ the annoying issues till you get the rest fixed; and - last - do your best to lead a normal life in spite of your unpleasantries. Most of all - do not just accept everything that is bothering you - fight to get it fixed.
The best to you.
Don
