I've only had my icd for about 3 months now. My cardiologist and surgeon stated I'll have a normal life, well it doesn't feel normal. Very little pressure in my upper chest, lower throat after I eat,, a little pains around my icd and the right side of my chest, a little light-headed. The weird thing is when I walk I feel ok. Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well in the new year. I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced discomfort still after a year?
It's uncomfortable to lay on my left side and stomach to sleep. And sometimes there's a dull pain. It's so apparent in my daily life. I was wondering will this ever truly go away or is this something I just have to deal with?
I would truly appreciate any insight or personal experiences regarding this topic. Thank you in advance :)

I found out last november (2020) in the local emergency hospital, that I have serious heart failure - dilated left ventricule cardiomyopathy, with acute pulmonary edema, and I am lucky to have survived.
Im 55 years young, and never had any health issue before. After 3 months, and non satisfactory improvement with meds, I will have my pacemaker/icd (CRT-D) installed in just a few weeks.

My Pacemaker was installed back in October, 2020. To make a VERY long story short, I had immediate (and painful) complications with the placement of the bottom lead which was tweaked repeatedly, then repositioned (twice), and then (when all that didn't solve the problem) was just simply shut off. Had PM fitted Nov 2017, Had e few problems ever since device was fitted, Been back quite a few times, see different Cardiologists each time always get different diagnosis each time. Good Evening, I havent been on this site for quite a while. I live in the UK across the pond. I am a little worried that the heath service will not replace my pacemaker in about 3 years time. And being totally dependant on it due to an AV node ablation proceedure. The pandemic is causing chaos in the health service and i think we may have to live with it which our governments dont yet understand. I suspect the helth service will go bancrupt . Peter

Had my pacemaker for a year and have been diagnosed with pacemaker syndrome. My Dr reccomends changing out my pacemaker and adding an additional lead plus defibulator type pacemaker. I want to thank everyone that replied to my post. Its great to be associated with so many people that have already gone through most of which im about to go through and are willing to share their experiences.
I think therapy might definitely be in the cards for me once I physically heal up a little more. Looking forward to more support from the group and someday offering my support to others that might need it from me.

I had a pacemaker implant on 10th November due to grade 2 heart block.
I was waiting to see if it was a temporary thing but for the fourth day in a row I've had an ache in what I presume is my heart.
It is not unbearable but when resting or at night it is like a tooth ache and I am needing to take painkillers to get to sleep
I know I need to speak to the cardiologist but is this something others have experienced?
