We are in the process of coming out with a new medical device and need your expertise. If you are interested in participating we will come to your house and interview you and pay you for it. You won't even have to leave your own home. This is only taking place in the Boston and Chicago area. You will be compensated $150 for this 2 hour opportunity. If you are interested and...

This is an addition to Blake's post. Thanks Blake for looking further into this topic.
Although this post is taken from a comment made, in answer to the study led by 17 yrs old Jay Thaker, it, in no way should be taken as an actual fact, since no studies have been conducted, that I know of, as to its veracity.
" A 3.7v device, such as an IPOD, backed by enough current, is ample to cause short range Radio-Frequency-Emissions, that will penetrate flesh easily. The aluminum shell of a pac...

HelloFriends
I posted last week about twitches in my chest and missed heart beats. I went to the doctor today and had my pm interrigated. It's been 2 months since the pm was put in and today they turned the voltage from 5 to 2.5. It was amazing how the tech could create the tic on demand for me. So that should be solved.
The missed beats I was feeling were after I exercised. Turns out I had an upper rate of 130. They moved it up to 160. Afterwords they put me on a holter monito...

If you read my replies in the topic below about iPods and pacemakers, you'll see that I wrote to the reporter about the misconception that pacemakers are only for "old" people. You can see a copy of what I sent her in that topic posting.
Anyway, she just responded to me:
"Hi, thanks. This would be a good story if I can localize it to central Wisconsin. Do you know anyone in our area with a pacemaker that is not an elderly citizen? Our hospitals are not very helpful in conn...

With the lawn mowing season fast approaching.....how many cut the lawn with a gas or electric mower? In doing so, do you notice anything different happening - numbness in that arm, tightness? Do you have any concerns with this happening or does the feeling(s) subside?

I see on our account that we put in our home town ect. I didn't know you were planning on making that info available at a later date. That will be great if you could. If you did not want that part to be seen you just note that and it would be deleted from the profile. Great Idea and do it soon if you can Blake. And if i might ask a question Blake how do I send a personal message now with the change. I sent a couple and got no answer so i don't know if they went through or not. Thanks again for t...

Because of the last 2 postings below why don't we see if Blake could set up a place under forums where we could list our country and home town. Then if we were setting up a vacation or even if we were going to be out and about on business we could look up other members. We could write them and if they were interested meet them. This would be a huge help when visiting a new area. We could avoid the usual tourist traps and have access to a guide who knows the best places to go. There would be no o...

Grandma or Grandpa probably aren't tuned into an iPod.
But if they have a pacemaker, someone else's use of a portable music player can cause problems.
iPods were used in a study which demonstrated that the devices caused 50 percent of the pacemakers to malfunction.
The study found that iPods affected the pacemakers for a distance of up to 18 inches. In one case the pacemaker stopped working.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
