I've always had a slow heart beat. It was in the mid-40's and then as I got older it started to slip into the 30's. That's when they convinced me to go with a pace maker, even though I didn't feel bad or exhibit symptoms. The device was impalnted Friday (4 days ago), and I feel worse now than before the surgery. It's hard to describe the feeling, but I just don't feel right. At times I feel great and then I feel sluggish as if I...

Hi
My first post
I am having a dual chamber pacemaker fitted on the 10th to correct night time bradycardia. Am thinking of asking for it to be fitted sub pectorally as am quite active. Any thoughts on the benefits or downsides of this?

Hi,
I'm very new to all this having had a pacemaker fitted yesterday.
Recovery is going ok I think, it's a reactive one so should only be active when my heartbeat drops below a certain level. While relaxing tonight I'm getting sensations of what feels like one large palpitation every now and again.
Has anyone else had this? Feels very odd and unsettling! Is this a normal feeling to have while things are new and settling down?

Going on 3rd week and somewhat slower than expected . Bruising was extensive and slow to heal. Am wondering how long before strips begin to fall off. Mine don't seem to want to. Been following the rule faithfully .7-8 showers in full mode. Nurse ws going to send something to get them started. Anyone use something . Thanks

Thank you for your kindness and patience. I really appreciate the help you have given in answering my more serious posts. The last post didn't quite come out right. It seemed trivial for me to be asking about what you can and can't wear when my other posts were very serious so I was trying to make a joke of it.!
I had read that you have to be careful with straps and pressure on the site, so didn't know what type of bra is best. Also I had read about one ma...

This is a great site. I am so grateful for the comments as I had no idea how to get info before from people with first hand experience. I have now been told I have AV type 2, stage 2 block, if that helps. (Sounds like an exam cert!). I haven't any symptoms. I had my pulse taken for something else and was found to have a slow heart rate and eventually had an appointment for an ECG. I don't think they expected to find anything. Obviously, I am one of the lucky ones. I just wish I could...
Thanks guys

Hi fellow club members
Would anyone like to tell me how large the scars are and if you get another one when the batteries are replaced?
Thanks in anticipation.
All good wishes

Hi
Not sure how you reply to individual comments. Do you message direct?
I really appreciate you taking the trouble to reply. It's so good to know there are people out there who understand.

Hi
I am a new user in the UK and this is my first post.
I have been advised to have a PM fitted due to AV stage 2. At present I don't have any symptoms. I Zumba dance, do the garden and pretend to go to the gym.
Having found this problem they have advised me to have the PM as a preventative measure. Obviously, if I had symptoms I would be really grateful.
I would prefer to carry on as I am. Does level 2 always progress to stage 3?
I am worried tha...

Hi guys
Im now 7 days with my new pacemaker and still very much in pain and discomfort. It's feels like the pacemaker is pressing against something in my chest and is very uncomfortable when walking. Is this normal and will there become a time where I don't feel it and can just get on with my life. Feeling very down at the moment.
