CRT-D
Hi all.... have not posted in forever, if ever. My hubby has medtronic ICD, 2011, but they are now going to change out for a CRT-D. Understand everything about them, and why.....
My question: Is there one that I can send transmissions over the internet? I live in Mexico and our Medtronics Carelink can not.....they are supposed to in the near future, but that does not help me now.
Any input would be wonderful!!!
Thanks,
Sandy
Question about ICD and Sexual Partners
My doc wants me to get an ICD. I would like to know how others have told their sexual partners about the device. I doubt I would get shocked during sex as the upper limit will be set at 170 bpm and the meds I take keep my heart rate way below that point. My concern is that partners will flee thinking that my ticker will stop (just what I am trying to avoid with the ICD).
Any experiences to share?

HI EVERYONE, I'M 27 yrs old and was diagnosed with CHF last year in March 20112011. December 2012 my ICD/pacemaker was inplanted. My ejection fraction is 30%. I don't have any children but i plan to start a family soon, i will discuss with my doctor if its safe to do so, i wanted to know if any of you suffer with the same thing i do and have gotten pregnant and how it was for you during your pregnancy and labor.
Thank you,
Vanessa

I just had my second defibrillator put in on August 3rd, and I was recovering really well until I got shocked on August 12th. Now I'm having panic attacks and lots of anxiety because I'm so scared it will shock me again. I also have this weird kicking feeling on the opposite side of my ICD. Every night at 1 AM my heart feels like it's slowing down, then I get three kicks 2 little ones then one big one and then my heart speeds up and then goes back to normal, but sometimes the kicking happens on...
Normal?
Hi all, I just have a question..is it normal for my heart rate to constantly go under 60 even thought that is what my pacemaker is set at for the low? I am about 7 weeks or so out from getting my pacemaker. I had inappropiate sinus tachycardia and after 3 ablations they pretty much knocked out my sinus node and during my last ablation they ablated for 7 hrs then my heart rate went to 40 so they put the pacemaker in. Off and on I check my heart rate and its usually running between 53-62. Shouldn'...

Not sleeping well solved
Hi,
I have not been sleeping well since an ICD implant last July. I seemed to be hovering between sleep/awake for long periods. They had set my lower pacing to 50bpm. I went for my first check-up yesterday and after discussing it with the technician he set my HR to 45bpm from 22.00hrs to 07.30hrs. I slept like a log last night!!
As I have VT and no other problems I asked him why they used the lower pacing function anyway - the answer was "because they can". Enough said!

Went to follow up appt
So I went to my follow up appt on monday which was 4 weeks after getting a PM I told him I'm still having alot of flutter off and on and he says that isn't normal so he did a 24hr holter monitor to see if anything shows up before he does any adjustment with the settings. When they checked my PM I was told that I have extra electricity, which is what started my whole problem for inappropiate sinus tachycardia, and he also told me right now I'm 70% paced. My settings are 60 for low and 130 for hig...
CNC job restrictions/brand advice
Hi, my brother luckily managed to live through SCA last sunday, and is getting great care at his hospital, and making a quick recovery. now we are posed with the overwhelming task of deciding on a brand of ICD to have placed, so he can get back to a relatively normal life. My brother is only 39, and we have no history of heart problems in our family, so we have no idea what the differences may be from one brand to another. He is very high energy, and is constantly busy with something, but the...

So I have decided to get myself a bracelet to identify that I have an ICD in case someone comes upon me in need of medical help. My doctor's physician assistant wanted me to wait until I had genetic testing to find out if I have "long QT syndrome" which is what they discovered I had when I had my cardiac arrest. Whether it's drug induced or genetic is the big question. My thought process is this: The average person is not going to know what "long QT syndrome" is, therefore it's a moot point....
anybody hear of CRT-D?
Hi,
I am about to have an ICD insert in me nexth month. I will be working in Vietnam for most of the year, except for the summer. There are checkin machines for both ICD and CRT-D in Vietnam. I am 55 yrs old male.

Does anyone have information on a second surgery and the wire attached to the heart? I have Cardiomyaphy and an EF of 20 I work every day although I can get winded from time to time
Any information is appreciated
Getting aggravated
I first would like to thank everyone on here for their posts its nice to talk to people who have went through the same things and doesn't make me feel like such an abnormal freak!! I'm still waiting for my follow up appt on the 13th which can't come soon enough, what bothers me the most they were suppose to get rid of the tachycardia and just this evening while sitting on the couch my hr sky rockets to around 115 from around 60 for no reason while making me feel short of breath, heart racing, an...
