Got my PM on Jan 20, this year. Every thing as far as I know is going great. I need to get some exercise, but I can't walk very far because of intense knee pain, can't ride exercise bike because of really bad balance. I use a walking stick even in house because of it. Well that and my stupid Boxer dog, Bo, can get in my way -- only kidding about Bo -- I love him dearly.
SO I got the bright idea to get a wheelchair. I figure to get out and about for f...

I have a prostate biopsy scheduled in 5 weeks. I have a question out to my cardiologist on steps if any that need to be taken.
i am wondering if anyone has gone through this and if any issues.
Also is there a way to search for posts by subject like this?
Thanks

Hi guys! I'm 26 and I've just had my pacemaker fitted 3 days ago due to going into cardiac arrest multiple times. I was a police officer for 4 years and recently came out to work on the railway, whilst working on the railway I applied for British Transport Police which I was due to start next month. However now due to this I'm rethinking my career as I don't want to risk any wires dislodging or the radios interfering with the pacemaker itself!
What jobs do you guys...

Thought I'd give a heads up to those of you thinking about buying a Kardia Mobile. Pretty sure this affects all Kardia models (6 lead as well), but not 100% sure.
The Kardia Mobile seemed like a terrific device for those of us who experience A-fib and other arrhymias. I was quite happy purchasing it and after I downloaded the app to my smart phone it seemed to work pretty good. At first I got a few "interference" readings as wel...

I want to thank everyone for comments on my previous post. It made me realize that my health is more important than smoking cannabis. After I've come this far, I don't want a setback. I'm going to try focusing on other things. I'm going to quit. I want to live for awhile longer. Again, thanks everyone. I will continue to read posts and maybe post once in awhile. I have alot to learn.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE!
Hello to the usual suspects! It has been ages since I have been in here!
Just reaching out to say hi from UK, hope you are all doing well.
I am on my second pacemaker - Gerry - and due for a new one in around 17 months.
SCARS: how many of you have lots of scars due to new pacemakers? Or did your surgeon manage to go in on the same scar?
I begged my surgeon to go in on the last scar and he said he would see what he c...

My leads show under the skin and one area that looks like where they attached is sensitive to the touch of clothes. My pacemaker has been in since November 27, 2022. I had a hematoma that had to be drained and the healing period has been longer. Does everyone have this sensivity and how long does it normally last? This is not pain just a sensitive area. Is there anything that helps this?

Has anyone out there had a pacemaker due to heart block. I was wondering if the pacemaker is controlling your problem. My heart had missed 7 beats and heart rate was going down and taking hours to come back up. This was a strange feeling. Would nearly pass out and felt like my brain was running backward and you were losing your mind. Had a pacemaker put in on November 27, 2022 and this hasn't hapened since but have had a lot of problems with pacemaker site...

Since the pace has been implanted , I've noticed a progression of weird palps and missed beats on occasion. When I go to sleep I can feel my heart beating a bit more and feel it in my head too. I was attributing it to anxiety and an occasional Xanax helps, but I can fall asleep sitting more upright and it helps a bit. I spoke with the EP doc and the transmission did not show any arrithmia, just an occasional missed beat. Curious if anyone else has experienced th...

Unsure if this post makes any sense to post but I will out of curiousity to know if anyone else has been told the same thing...
I have a complete heart block with some history of AF and some fast he at racing beats in the past. My first AF was because of a thyroid issue that got healed naturally ironically. And the second issue with my heart rate was due to Lyme disease which was treated and I no longer have those symptoms. It's been almost 1 1/2 years...

Hi, I had a leadless pacemaker (Micra) fitted on 18 January this year.
Am just wondering if anyone else has had one and how they are finding it? I seem to be ok, taking things slowly and doing a little more each day, but didn't really get much info from the hospital (had my PM fitted within 3 weeks of being told I needed it), so sort of feel in the dark a bit and a little alone at times.
Thanks
James

Hello everyone,
I am a 65 year old woman. Last week I was diagnosed with Bradycardia and had a pacemaker implanted. Came as a complete surprise to me, as I was active and otherwise healthy.
I do feel better now, going on daily short walks.

Hi. Have had my 6 week check up, all was good. I am very lucky I am not on any medication. I would like to know if anyone else on here has ridden after they received a pacemaker. I was told That I could but would still like to hear if anyone has had any problems riding. Thanks.

Hello. I'm brand new to this forum and have recently been advised that I should have a p.m implanted.
Question: will the p.m have a positive effect on afib? Will it eliminate episodes? Or will it have no effect at all?
Background: have had afib for 12 years. Also had an ablation in late '18 which made a positive diff for a year or two after which frequency and duration went right back to where it was prior.
In last 6 months, frequency has b...

My pacemaker was fitted after discovering I had a 2:1 AV block. That was in November 2020.
I have had a few changes to the pacemaker settings since then but now on a setting of VVI40 (which only kicks in if my ventricles drop below a rate of 40bpm.
I am now pacing in the ventricles 1.3% of the time.
A very small amount.
I am able to exercise and go about my daily business without worrying about overusing the pacemaker but at the same time not worrying if i w...

The doctor recommends green veggies and lean protein. which means i have to leave my veggie lifestyle after 30+ years. Thank goodness hopefully will be for only 3 months.
I got back the results from the Food Sensivity test, which showed me why i reacted to some of the foods that have been eating.
She did say i need to take EPH/DHA a fish oil or Algae Oil. Said i read online that fish oil can cause A-Fib. Since i do not need that, will try the Alg...
