Meds?

What meds?  If you're taking over-the-counter drugs be sure they're heart safe.  Anything with a decongestant, like pseudoephedrine, in it is a no-no. They'll often raise blood pressure, heart rate, and drive one's nervous system like a hundred cups of coffee.

Pseudoephedrine...

Agree with AX86.... that was my go-to decongestant for years.  And on long drives, an espresso coffee and two of those, and I could drive for miles and miles and miles..... lol.

l haven't touched one in over a year.... they're not Afib friendly.  And only decaf.

So now I can sleep for miles and miles and miles....

when in doubt, to go the hospital

As the others said, some meds can raise the heart rate as can being sick. But if your rate is staying elevated, you need to be seen asap.

The pacer is a gas pedal, not a brake. The heart can go as fast as it wants on its own, the pacer will just watch.

What’s the doc say?
