I have a prostate biopsy scheduled in 5 weeks. I have a question out to my cardiologist on steps if any that need to be taken.
i am wondering if anyone has gone through this and if any issues.
Also is there a way to search for posts by subject like this?
Thanks

Search under "Q" top right by typing in Prostate

Fungranddaddy, if you search top right under "Q" by typing in prostate it will give you a few posts you can read from other members with prostate disease.
I have found a few other links from the Pacemaker Club by searching the general web and attach them herewith for you. In the third link, although the original poster is asking about breast cancer, one contributor talks at length about his prostate cancer experience. Unfortunately you will need to copy and paste the links into your main browser to open - they won't automatically open when clicked on this site.
You might want to ask your doctor about any meds you are on like anticoagulants which may need to be stopped before your biopsy?
I do wish you lots of luck and please try not to worry. The biopsy results may be better than you expect?

You should google," healing well prostate forum." These men can answer your questions about prostate biopsies and any other questions you may have pertaing to prostate cancer. I urge you to look up this site. I had robotic prostate surgery in 2015. The biopsy is nothing to fear. It's like getting stung by a bee. And if you're like me you got stung by a lot of wasps and bees as a boy. I can't remember getting a letter from my cardiologist but contact him. My best piece of advice, MD Anderson in Houston is not that far from Georgia.
you are not the only one

you are not the first person with heart issues and/or a device to have this done. they should be well versed in what to do even without talking to your cardiologist.
saying that you should contact both sides of tihs your cardiologist and the folks doing the biopsy, why not takes as second to pick up the phone or get on a web portal.
it truly is not your problem it is the doctors problem.
good luck.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.

I've never had it done but your cardiologist will have to send a "clearance letter" to the surgeon. You shouldn't be asking the question. Your surgeon needs (required?) to send a request for a clearance from your cardiologist. Be sure that your surgeon knows you have a pacemaker. I know it's in your record but don't take chances. There is a reason they mark a limb with "THIS ONE" before arm/leg surgery. Mistakes/ommisions happen. The more people who you tell, the lower the probabilty of something falling through the cracks.
