Using Cannabis

I want to thank everyone for comments on my previous post.  It made me realize that my health is more important than smoking cannabis.  After I've come this far, I don't want a setback.  I'm going to try focusing on other things.  I'm going to quit.  I want to live for awhile longer.  Again, thanks everyone.  I will continue to read posts and maybe post once in awhile.  I have alot to learn.

JonesL928,

I applaud you for your dicision, I always say if it will hurt you, walk away, good for you and making a wise choice. Stay away from that stuff.

I hope you will feel better now that you have a pacemaker and that you will get "safe" support for your anxiety and depression.  I hope you have friends and family who are supporting you, but if you need further help, please speak to your general doctor who can refer you for talking therapy.

It really works to speak about our fears, rather than suppressing them with medication or by other means.  Only when our fears are out in the open, acknowledged, can we start to heal and to move on.

Pleased for you

It's always good to see someone make a decision for themselves which is considered.

I wish you all the very best with your pacemaker and cardiac health and echo Gemita's comments re: talk therapy.

Best Wishes

Anxiety and depression

Hi there

I wish you all the best with stopping cannabis. Anxiety and depression as you mention, are really really tough to live with and it's totally normal to want to do something to help with the symptoms. I think many drugs (including some prescription drugs) are risky with a heart condition and I don't like your doctors advice that it should be okay. Perhaps you could explore some of the safer prescription drugs under medical supervision to help with the anxiety or/and depression if it gets too tough. In the longer term, I agree with Gemita that some type of therapy is what will make lasting change. For some people, therapy has a quick positive impact and for others results can be much slower. Only you know how bad the anxiety and depression feels and there's definitely no shame in needing to explore the medication route with a doctor in the mean time! All the best for the future and your decision to make a change.
