3rd degree Heart bock pacer implanted 12/19/22

Since the pace has been implanted , I've noticed a progression of weird palps and missed beats on occasion. When I go to sleep  I can feel my heart beating a bit more and feel it in my head too. I was attributing it to anxiety and an occasional Xanax helps, but I can fall asleep sitting more upright and it helps a bit.  I spoke with the EP doc and the transmission did not show any arrithmia, just an occasional missed beat. Curious if anyone else has experienced the same. Oh, one last thing, tinnitus seems to have crept in to my life as well.

Pretty normal

It takes a while for the heart to get used to playing follow the leader. Arrhythmias are pretty common for a while. You're also much more tuned to anything your heart is doing.

You're probably feeling PVCs, particularly since you're now being paced in your ventricle. The "skipped" beat isn't really skipped, it's just early so the heart isn't completely filled with blood so isn't a full beat. You then don't feel it in the extremities. IF you feel for the beat in your neck, you'll probably feel the short  beat. These are not dangerous at all. Everyone has these but you're keenly attuned to your heart right now.

A few weeks in

Hi SDC - I hope you're otherwise feeling well and are able to eventually get to sleep and have enough rest. Give things a bit more time to settle in and then re-assess how you're feeling. Having a heartrate within the normal range again was something that took me a while to get used to, in addition to the hyper-awareness that follows implant. Best wishes to you

More noticeable

I definitely was more aware of my heartbeat after getting my pacemaker. All my senses were heightened and it took a while for things to feel normal again. Sleeping took some adjustment to settle down. I got used to holding a small pillow up against my pacemaker to feel more secure. I still sleep that way on my right side. Sometimes I sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees to help my back. It's still early for you.  It won't always be this way.

Thank you all
