I am thankful to have a forum that might help answer some concerns. I was put on Xarelto for three clots that developed after my surgery in October, 2014. That is a three month treatment for me. My left arm still remains about 1 inch larger than the right. My hematologist said I have a chronic clot. She is referring me to another cardiovascular surgeon. Has anyone been diagnosed with a chronic clot? I would appreciate knowing some options and their outcome. At this point I am really questioning...

My recent pacemaker replacement surgery incurred the difficulty of tissue growing around my lead and pacemaker connection. Being that the surgery was being done in the cath lab (don't get me started!), they didn't have the needed instruments to separate them. After running to surgery and locating the needed instruments, they accomplished their goal. My tenderness seems to be more and lasting longer than my previous replacements (I've had a pacemaker for 40 years), so I am assuming the internal c...

Hello all
it's nearly 6 weeks since i had my pacemaker fitted. I still get numbness and loss of colour in my left hand when any pressure is put on the PM site. I am also still getting some pain from where the incision was made. there appears to be 2 lumps, one either end of the incision which are still very tender
has anyone had similar experiences

I have a 2 lead pacemaker for bradycardia. I use an iPad whith a magnetic closer, my question is would this cause me any problems and if so at what distants will the problem be noticed? Lately I have been having some dull pain around my left breast. It is not always there, but often enough I have to wonder about it.
Any advise is appreciated. Thanks

I moved to MI Oct5, 2013 for safe access to Medical Marijuana. While in MI I required a 4th ablation to treat SVT, that left me Brady, requiring a PM. Dr. Ip approved me as a Nanostim recipient, knowing that I'm a MMJ pt (documented by him), which I received 7-10-14. I've relocated back to KY two moths ago. Two st jude medical sites have refused to assume my care under the trial. No reasons given. I've been told to return to ?MI to be interrogated every 6 months.
Last month I had s...

I'm 23. I got my pacemaker when I was 21 because my heart randomly stopped for 16 seconds. I'm otherwise healthy. I have a dual chamber pacemaker, not a defibrillator. And everything has been relatively fine except for the new-to-pacemaker-jitters I had the first few months.
Lately I've been getting little shocks. They don't hurt at all. They kind of feel like rhythmic little pricks right around where my pacemaker sits in my chest. I don't know what they are. But when I get them I th...

I am 5 weeks post my first dual lead pacemaker implant. I am a 36 year old female. I was told I could begin a walking regimen at the 4 week mark, which I did. I now have what feels like a knot between my left arm and the beginning part of my left breast and it is very sore. I'm a little concerned but don't know if this is typical? I will call my EP office later today but wanted to get some insight if any of you have experienced this.

I had a dual chamber implanted on 3.11.14, and from that day I have experienced daily episodes of heavy almost mechanical beats, slightly faster than normal (75 instead of 60), which last for 1-2mins. Curiously these episodes occur at 10mins to the hour, but at different hours each day eg. Fridays at 3.50p.m., Saturdays at 12.50p.m., Sundays at 9.50a.m. Sometimes they might occur at other times as well, but always at these times. My cardiologist (very experienced - about 2000 implantations) h...

Hi everyone,
I've had my PM just over 2 years. No complications. But in the past 48 hours I've had some new pain. I swam 2 days ago (which is normal for me) and when I came home I felt like I had a strained muscle right at my pacemaker site. I took some advil and went to bed. It felt better but now I consistently have a dull ache under the skin at the site of my PM and running down from it and it hurts when I breath in deeply or sneeze or blow my nose. I called the Dr but have...

I've had my pacemaker since April 2014. Three Issues:
From that day forward I have had difficulty sleeping at night--I wake up ever 2 to 2-1/2 hours throughout the night. I go back to sleep but it does interfere with a good night's rest. I do not have sleep apnea.
Also, my blood pressure is higher now than before the pacemaker was installed.
Finally, my problem was sick sinus syndrome and the pacemaker has kept my heart at or above 60bpm which is great. BUT,...

Saw the cardiologist about my low pulse problem and have arranged a nuclear stress test for next week. Will also have a heart ultrasound before seeing pacemaker specialist. Did not realise I had a dual lead system and should therefore be able to increase the upper pulse levels.

John.

Hello,
I just got my pacemaker at the end of June. Ever since then my lead has moved some. There also has been a problem since the movement of the lead the pacemaker is picking up a different wave now. They said if the lead moved anymore they would need to do surgery and move it back. Since my last appointment they have picked up the different wave even more, so I think it has moved a lot more now.
Has anybody had this kind of problem? How bad is reconstructive surgery,...

I've had a pacemaker for about 3 months and everything seems fine. I woke up this morning to it itching a bit and noticed it felt much different than normally. At first it felt like the edges were sharper than I have ever noticed. Later in the day it was itching again and started to feel a little discomfort. Not bad but different. I now have noticed that it has some bruising around the area that now feels a bit sharper. I also now feel a lump on top by that same edge. Maybe it in my head but it...

Hi,
Anyone have experience with a device that has moved 4 months after implantation?
This is my second CRT-D and it has now rotated more than 45 degrees from an upwards position on my left chest to a armpit facing position. The leads connecters that were on the top are now on my left and pointing slightly down.
EP does not seem particularly concerned; but, new placement is causing soreness.
thanks,
Dianne

I have had my pacemaker for 2 years, unfortunately they are still tweaking it these past 2 years. I goto Mayo clinic and they say I am unique...never seen a patient have my heart issues. I am 100% pacemaker dependent, was in a car accident that started the electrical problems. Had AV Node reentry, flutter, atrial tachycardia among other electrical problems. My PVARP is at 175 and my AV Delay set at 100, the delay has to be this low as my PVARP can not go any lower as my pacemaker can not do that...

hello,
Wondering if someone has experienced a similar thing -- I currently have my second Pacemaker/ICD, I've never had complications before with either device but tonight I'm having trouble with pain in the area of the ICD. It's been implanted since 2011. I've also noticed that I'm being shocked by touching metal objects (not an ICD shock, but static ) a lot more frequently the last two days -- any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks.
