Don't Wait!

Please contact your doctor's office and tell them that you can't wait two months for an appointment and describe your symptoms to them. If you are taking medication, that may need to be adjusted. Your pacemaker may also need tweaking. Your pacemaker is supposed to help control a low heart rate. In my case I also have a two lead PM because I was suffering from an extremely low heart rate that did not allow the doctors to prescribe medications to help control the arrhythmia. Most of the time my PM now keeps my heart rate from falling below 60, but occasionally during times of arrhythmia, I get readings in the mid 30s. I got a quick appointment with the EP and my mind was put at ease when he told me that everything was working as it was designed to. You should not have to put up with the fear, discomfort and uncertainty that symptoms like yours can cause, for two more months. Try to arm yourself with some facts. Hopefully you have a BP cuff that also checks for Bradycardia. When you have the symptoms you describe check your BP and heart rate and write down the results and keep a log to show your doctor. Good luck. I hope you can get your appointment moved up. As a last resort you could consider a trip to the ER or a ready clinic.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
