I am 5 weeks post my first dual lead pacemaker implant. I am a 36 year old female. I was told I could begin a walking regimen at the 4 week mark, which I did. I now have what feels like a knot between my left arm and the beginning part of my left breast and it is very sore. I'm a little concerned but don't know if this is typical? I will call my EP office later today but wanted to get some insight if any of you have experienced this.

I'm 7 months out since PM surgery and had / have a similar ongoing issue. At first it was there all the time and then I began feeling it less frequently (but still there). However, I still feel this and it seems to get worse after using my left arm /side when stretching when I do additional exercises I'm not used to doing or a variety of left arm involved activities. It also gets worse in cold weather for some reason. It's always good to check with your MD and keep on top of it though. I think it takes the nerves a really long time to heal. I'm thin too and find my PM gets in the way of many movements, which in turn results in the lumpy breast soreness --just my theory and experience so far. My MD doesn't seem too concerned either but I still report it.
Good luck!

My pacemaker has ultimately saved mine and my unborn childs life for which I am thankful.

I am 7 weeks post-op and I have a lumpish area between my breast and armpit that is sore or gets sore with more movement. I showed it to my regular cardiologist and he said women have unique issues sometimes based on the placement of the pacer and some of it should still get better over the next few months. I would definitely tell your surgeon and at least have them check it.
I was told to report any pain or redness.
I am trying to let mine heal more. My pacer also sits up high and seems like the skin over near the incision is so thin. So I may feel more because of where it sits. Maybe you might too.
Also, to remember they cut through muscle to do the pocket and that takes a while to heal!
Best of luck to you!
