Atrial-tachycardia

Hello. I have 3rd degree heart block and got my pacer April 2009. I'll be getting a new one in a few months. I had an Afib-ablasion in March. all was going well untill 2 weeks ago. I've had 2 episodes of atrial-tachycardia. Cardiologist thinks my pacer is keeping up with my upper chamber when it begins to flutter. This is like rel-iving the panic attacks, constant anxiety I had the first 3 months after my pacer. Has anyone developed atrial tachycardia?

Complications

Hi everyone , I haven't posted for a while but as in my last posts the problems have not gone away , I was fitted with a dual chamber pacemaker on March 8th this year for 2nd degree heart block  . Since then my life has become a nightmare , constant dizziness , headaches , swollen stomach , chest pain and palpitations . I've been in and out of hospital around 15 times since with the ,cardiologists slowly turning the pacemaker down , it is now on its lowest setting with 50% o...

Pacemaker

Hi, I would like someone's opinion. I got a pacemaker about a month ago because my heart rate was dropping in the high 30's-40's. I was also having symptoms of what I thought was just going to sleep the Dr's said I was passing out. So I have started passing out again!! Well when I'm passed out I can't check my pacemaker. Should I feel my pacemaker kick in when I have these spells?? I don't know what to do!!

insomnia

My wife has had a pacemaker for 3-4 years. She had insomnia before the PM, but now she is convinced that everyone with a PM has sleep problems. She took ambien years ago, which heled, but now she has developed tolerance and dependence to the point where she gets mail order pills from India, and I am seeing sporadic memory, thinking, and dementia-like symptoms that are really hard to live with. She is in total denial about the dependence, refuses to get a sleep study or see a neurologist. She...

Sometimes I feel like I did before the pacemaker!

Sometimes I still get that lightheaded, dizzy, "palpitaty" feeling that I got before I had the single lead pacemaker implanted for SSS about 4 months ago.  I am also still a bit exercise intolerant and I get super dizzy after bending over or standing up sometimes.  Everyone said I would feel great and be able to run regularly again after I got the pacemaker, but I just don't.  I have been back once to have it checked and the Dr. assures me I'm fine....

Infection at implantation site

My husband received his PM on 5-31-16.  He's young (35) and fit so Dr thought he did him a favor by glueing rather than stapling or stitching.  After 2 weeks (6-14-16) the site had still not healed.  We went in mainly because the site began to smell which indicates infection and also he had flu like symptoms, major nausea, vomitting, chills, fever, etc.  The flu like symptoms began on 6-11-16.

We were told Dr could see the PM when he removed the steri strips...

Uncomfortable Excess Heart Beats

Hi everyone.  I haven't checked in for a while but have a new question for you.  I've had my pm for 2 yrs 3 months, and never any problems with it.  Recently I started feeling "random" excess heart beats on my lower left side. I have a dual lead pm but never had anything abnormal happening before. These excess heart beats cam be quite strong to the point I feel a muscle "jump" at least half the time now when it happens.  I'm definitely...

Long-term Effects of Dual Chamber Pacing

I have had my 3rd pacemaker since 2012 and overall have had a pacemaker since 1999, post AV node ablation.  After 17 years of being 100% dependent upon the device, I would like to know what complications may develop and the long-term effects of dual chamber pacing.  There seems to be absolutely no data available on the Internet for my specific case (not atrial fibrillation or cardiomyopathy).  Does anyone have any advice?

Boston scientific 12 weeks

Hi everyone

I've had my pm for 12 weeks I got it because I had 2nd degree heart block type 2 which made my hear rate go below 40 back in Feb when I came downstairs for a drink. I had a holt monitor 2 days later whilst in hospital to confirm this. I'm 57 very fit keen cyclist and eat healthy. My pm is suppose to work when I have drop beats, delayed beats. My rate response is off as I don't need it to exercise. My atrium works 1per cent my ventricle 35. So in these weeks...

sick sinus syndrome

My primary doctor placed me on a 24hr holter monitor and they called with results saying I was in sick sinus syndrome and told me they already set me up to see the pacer surgeon 1st thing in the morning. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm scared. I've only had my pacer since July 2015 and have had a lot of trouble with it.

Post pacemaker infection

Hello,

In Feb 2016, I had my pacemaker replaced, that became infected- On April 22, I had the leads, pacemaker, and some vegation from the heart, and tissue from the pocket removed. On April 26, a new pacemaker was placed under the muscle on the left side and new leads. I also had 5 weeks of Vancomycin.

Now the questions--

Did you take antibiotics after your replacement? I was not given anything after the first surgery, just see if this is the new normal/

Feedback

For those that have followed my infinately boring posts I'm looking for some more info.

Have used the serch mode but would still like to hear from anyone having AV node ablation, preferable not for Afib but any help is always welcome, how long they took to get back to "normal" and overall effectiveness.

When I saw the specialist last Tuesday he informed me that he had only done about 10 such ablations for my condition, and he is older than me lol!.

Anyone had this

Had a pacemaker implanted in September, 2016.  Everything was fine until late December. I was riding on top of a Swamp buggy when it hit quite a bump.  I could feel something then like the pacemaker was picking up speed.  It took two weeks to get back to almost normal.  After this I can't sit in a normal chair or recliner without a small bit of pressure in my chest and pressure in my head although not enough to cause a head ache but certainly mild discomfort. Feels a b...

not in peak condition

I have had my pm installed almost a year ago and I used to be very fit, healthy and strong. I was really into exercising. now however even though the doctors say i can go back to being normal, I find that physically I am really abnormal. I am definitely not fit, I cant exercise, I lack strength and stamina, I cant walk up a flight of stairs without getting breathless and always have an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and in my right arm and shoulder. Please advise ?????

Chest pain

First off, I have had my PM for over two months and for the most part everything has gone well, so this pain I had last night and this morning was very surprising to me. After I got through the fist 6 weeks and reading comments left here, I felt really good everything was going fine, and it still may be, but I wanted to ask if others have gone through what I did last night and this morning and if it's PM or heart related at all.

While watching TV last night I felt a tightness light p...

Heading for...

AV node ablation, specialist agreed it would be the best way to proceed . Combination of damage to node due to previous procedure which left me with a long QRS which is part of the problem in getting my PM settings balanced, getting PM tachycardia most of the time due to a retrograde re-entry pathway (think I got that right). He can't promise I will be totally free of problems but believes I will be a lot better. So we now wait for the next appointment . I tried to draw him as to how unwell you...
