If you have a CRT-P device of Medtronic/st jude/ Biotronik , please tell me the warranty period of your device. Because my father's cardiologist suggested a Mdetronic CRT-P device with only 5 years warranty. When I asked them about lifetime warranty or warranty more than 5 years, they said, for CRT- P device you only get 5 years warranty. Please clear my doubt.

In short, have a CTR-D due to low EF(below 30)
What are your thoughts on people like me that have serious heart diseases as it is stated many times that the death rate is considerably high with elderly, and people with heart issues and diabities?
Most of the people like me have also some issues with kidney and lungs as well due to the nature of our heart problems and/or medicine we need to take
I personally believe, if half of what we read is tr...

I just had my pm placed 4 days ago. We are booked to embark on a cruise to Hawaii on March18, 2020. Do you consider me having this procedure 4 days ago putting me at a higher risk of more sever complications should I contract Covid19?

So, the US CDC is recommending that high risk adults- over 60 with chronic health conditions stay home as much as possible and avoid crowds.
Depending on age, and the heart condition you have, that may be many of us.
My AFIB & PM probaby doesn't count, but for those with heart failure and/or other serious chronic conditions, are you staying home?
BTW, I've found it's almost impossible not to touch your face!

I'm having my first pacemaker inplanted in the near future. I am "freaked out" about them covering my face. It seems everything I have read says you are awake during this surgery and given local anesthetic. However, when I spoke to the cardiologist she said you won't remember anything. Does that mean they will be giving me "general anesthesia?
So two questions:
Am I awake when they put this drape or covering over my face?...

Just had call from doctor's office about my in home check. She said make an appointment to talk with him about taking a blood thinner. Do any of you take one? If so which one and any side effects. Took one years ago for blood clot in leg and hated it. Wondering if eating too much potassium caused the af

I was born with a heart defect that resulted in me being implanted with a pacemaker at 18months of age. I'm now thirty and my leads require much higher voltage to pace than when I was implanted with my device. I'm using pacemakers rather rapidly, and approaching my fifth pacemaker change. I started having complications and pain in my shoulder area, so in 2015 I had an extra set of leads implanted in the abdominal area, incase my leads broke after being repositioned. (These are on the...

Hi everyone,
I have just gotten my pacemaker implanted 2 days ago. I am only 20 years old. Being so young I still would like to be able to get out and have a drink with my friends but I am wondering if that is possible now that I have a pacemaker? When could you start drinking again and how much was it okay to drink? Did drinking affect your pacemaker and how?

Hello
I am 25 years old, and I've had my icd for about 4 years. All was well, except lately I've had some palpitations after I workout. After exercise my heart rate dips into 90s but then all it starts racing in 140s. Of course I'm going to call my cardiologists office, but before I do has anyone experienced anything similar? Thank you

Has anyone here had either a Sinus Node Ablation or Sinus Node modification done?
If so i'd be interested to know if you had any benefit from it... and were you able to stop or reduce antiarrythmic drugs afterwards?
My Dr has suggested it to me once again... just not sure about it.

Am now 1 week post op on my second PM after the first one was removed due to infection. I was worried that last time I'd tried to push recovery too quickly as it was great just getting back to normal.
I was wanting to know how active folks have been during their recovery? Last time I built up walking gradually to end up to be back on the local mountains after 6 week, was about to start cycling on & off road, was gonna leave climbing etc til a few month.
Also play guitar an...

Hi members
I've had my PM 2weeks ago just needed to know if the feeling of fullness in the chest is normal at this stage. I'm 70yrs. When does the pain over the insertion site subside and is it normal to have a irregular pulse sometimes resulting in fullness in the chest over the sternum.

Does just having a pacemaker put us in a high risk group if we contract coronavirus? I was wondering if having leads going into our hearts makes us high risk for complcations of the virus?

Ok a quick run down have (Tachycardia brachycardia) was given a PM and also take verapamil, took a few tweaks for PM setting and is good for the most part, I recently has a little bit of anxiety so my heart was already kinda racyish so I started to work out, felt good for the most part, also my upper limit is 175bpm I think but never really get that high, low is 60bpm, Any ways I was running and noticed it was racing really fast then I slowed down a bit and it was racing faster...
You know you're wired when...
You play MP3 files on your pacer.
