Basically, it gives doctors areas to further investigate. It is not a conclusive sign but suggests several possible issues such as Anterior Myocardial Infarction, or the possible severity of damage and so on. Bottom line additional tests are necessary to diagnose the problem...

R-wave

An EKG stip is the representation of the electrical activity in your heart.  The details of the heartbeat are named P, Q, R, S, and T.  The 'P' part starts the heartbeat and is a liitle bump on the wave. Then sometime later there is the "QRS complex".  'Q' is a little dip, followed immediately by a large spike called the 'R' wave, then immediatly followed by another dip caled the 'S' wave.  This is all followed sometime later by the 'T' wave. These are the primary components of the EKG.  The cardiologist/EP analyes these from several vantage points in the heart (each "lead" in a "12-lead" EKG looks at different aspects of these bumps.  The "low R wave" I believe is known as "poor R wave progression but this is something that you should be asking your EP about.  "OK, what does that mean (in english) and where do we go from here?"

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
