Hello everyone,
I am still 3 1/2 weeks into recovery but there are some things I have questions about. I don't have an appointment with my cardiologist until May 27th. (That was the soonest)
1) I notice that I feel especially sore on the incision area when I wake up in the morning. Not just a muscle soreness but kind of a small sharp pain. Is this normal? And speaking of sleep, every since the whole incident, I can not sleep! I don't sleep sooner than 2am and I wake up constantly... it...

Hi,
I wanted to write this for anyone who's waiting to have a pacemaker implanted. I had to wait two weeks, and my mind went crazy thinking about what it would be like, especially being awake for the surgery. I'm hoping this message will help put your mind at ease.
Surgery wasn't bad. You actually don't remember a thing. I think they keep you awake enough to respond to their questions, but you get enough "juice" that you won't remember what went on. My nurse...

I had a PC installed 3 weeks ago for low heart rate. I feel my incision has healed nicely, but I am still having the same symptoms...the feeling that I am going to pass out... I was told when I got my staples out last week, that I will see the tech to check my unit, in two weeks. My hear rate has slowed to below 50 a couple of times and I feel exhausted at times.
Does this sound normal? Should I just chill and wait for my check up? Will it get better?
Thanks for your input...

Last week got a Biotronik Eluna 8 DR-T for SND. In over night to check for issues. Took Tylenol first three days post implant. Every day seems better. Been out for several good walks including three miles 8 days post implant. Wife and friends say my color looks better. Incision is healing nicely. Minimal discomfort. Hope to get back to jogging after my 4 week checkup and PM tune up by the techs. Asked for the Biotronik because of the ra response algorithm CLS since I run hike and ski (69 yrs). S...

Hello, This is my first time on here. I am a 34 year old female who got a pacemaker in 2011 for sinus node dysfunction. Since then I have had two ablations for fast heart rates and one for A-fib. I was excited to finally be done and start to wean off the meds but my heart had a different agenda. Most recently I developed A-flutter they called it and had to be shocked out of it. I am now once again having very fast heart rates during any activity. I already take Multaq, Xarelto, Florinef, Lop...

I have a new pacemaker, just got the stitches out today and I'm still having the symptoms I had before the implant. I can't seem to get any answers on how long before I can expect to see results. I'm sure it probably varies, but is it normal? Is there a time within which I should see a difference? I told the nurse today when she removed the stitches and she seemed to think it was no big deal, "I'm still healing"? I would hate to think I went thru all this to no avail!
Any comments?

I had my pacemaker fitted 3 days ago as an emergency. I'm quite sore and very tired but my problem is I can't sleep. I've only had 2 hours sleep a night the last 3 nights and feel very depressed. I don't really have any support and feel very alone. Did anyone else experience not sleeping? Thank you

I am finally deciding to put in a 3lead crt pm in this coming monday. Dr. Wants to place it under the muscle. All your comments have helped. It seems like the pain will last a week or so. Is this the norm for most? Need to return to work. Is 2 weeks safe to say?

I am a 24 year old college student. I have never had any health problems as I have always been healthy and fit. I just had a pacemaker put in last Friday and I am just wondering how this will affect my life? Any major changes? I passed out at work and fractured my skull, due to other testing the doctor's realized it was my heart that had the issues. I have never had a problem with my heart before and this is all so new to me. Not even the doctors could figure out why this happened so suddenly. A...

I'm amazed to read about others so much like myself! This gives me hope as I am scheduled to get a PM on 4/08/15, MRI compatible with rate responsive settings. After 3 ablations for SVT, I developed sick sinus syndrome and can't get my 45 year old butt up a flight of steps without losing my breath. I have nothing else wrong with my heart but work in physical therapy and can barely manage treating my own patients.
I passed out and was hospitalized with bradycardia dropping my HR in th...

I had my first implant Feb.11, 2014. Because of my phrenic nerve and pacer wire interference, my stomach was twitching. After 6 months of twitches, many adjustments and tests, we agreed to change the pacemaker with a new improved multi vector wire pacemaker. On Oct. 21st, I had the surgery but when I woke up in recovery , I found out my arties would not accept the new wires. Oct.22nd, they removed the new pacer and implanted the original pacer. They went in between my ribs to attach the wires....

Hi,
I have had my pacemaker fitted for 5 weeks now and I am very disappointed at how far it protrudes. I am unhappy because I feel it will affect me more than I had anticipated e.g. wearing a seat belt, carrying a backpack, playing sport, etc., as well as aesthetically.
I had my first follow up session today and explained my anxieties and have now been referred to the Consultant with a view to considering whether the pacemaker would be better placed below both the chest mu...

I am having a hard time knowing that my SA node will decompensate more and more over time and my pacer will work more and more. When my own heart doesn't beat on its own will I still be alive? Its a weird thing to think about!?
A month ago my heart rate was in the 30-40, now I am in the 20s..
Thoughts?

Hi everyone! I've been having a very rough 3 months. Almost constant tachycardia, lots of a fib that triggers my defibrillator, dizziness, etc. It got to the point where getting out of bed would have my heart go into the 160's and trigger the a-fib. So I got an ablation done yesterday. I feel amazing!!! Totally different! Except for one thing.... I am having massive amounts of chest pain. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled I can walk to the restroom without needing to take a break half way th...

Hi everyone
This is my first posting, i'm just out of hospital today having had a PM unexpectedly fitted yesterday as a bit of an emergency.
I have been having numerous investigations for 4 months for Fast AF and Tachycardia. Iv had 3 hospital admissions to coronary care when my HR reached 280 bpm.
Last thursday i was booked into hospital for EP studies ( electro physiology tests), the results of which identified a problem smack bang in middle of sinus node. My doc had been hoping...
