after surgery adjustments

I had a PC installed 3 weeks ago for low heart rate. I feel my incision has healed nicely, but I am still having the same symptoms...the feeling that I am going to pass out... I was told when I got my staples out last week, that I will see the tech to check my unit, in two weeks. My hear rate has slowed to below 50 a couple of times and I feel exhausted at times.

Does this sound normal? Should I just chill and wait for my check up? Will it get better?

Thanks for your input.

I'd call in

I'd call in and see what they can tell you. It doesn't hurt to ask. If it is a problem they will at least know about it.

There are other reasons for passing out besides inactivity from the PM and you need to give your EP a chance to weight in on what he thinks.

As they told me in the ER and from personal experience I've found out you don't die from embarrassment. It's better to call in and feel foolish than find yourself in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Hope they can find a solution for you quickly.

I concur with his comments. I also think you need adjusting! Your heart rate should not be dropping below 50 unless the PM is set to something lower than that, which is doubtful.

I admit that I did not feel immediately well after getting my surprise PM as many/most do. I felt worse for many weeks before I finally turned the corner. Keep in mind: it takes time to adjust to your new normal AND time for the medical team to make the adjustments your device needs to suit your body.

All the best to you and your new friend for life!

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
