I have a BV ICD recently installed, and am on CRT with a minimum set heart rate of 60 BPM. I feel good, but have difficulty standing up from a kneeling position. I am out weeding my flowwer beds, and stand up to move, then start to get dizzy and feel as though I am going to black out. Had my cardiology appointment the other day and my BP was 120/80. Was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy with 22% EF in left ventricle and 31% EF in right ventricle. Post surgery xrays revealed enlarged heart consist...

I've always been curious as to what my doctor learns about my heart during an interrogation. I know he checks the leads and their conduction to and from the heart. I know he checks the battery life as well. However, does the interrogation give him/her any indication of your overall cardiac health?
From my understanding the heart has an electrical system and a muscular system. The electrical system is what is corrected by a PM. When your nodes no longer function and send the signals...

I'm still alive - Been about two weeks helping MD Daughter cope w/ a failed left Hip prosthesis. She had original hip job on left about three yrs ago. That was after having right hip done two yrs previous. Left hip failed after a relatvely short time - ball came out of joint twice in a two day period, requiring a revision. The suture line in the soft tissue tore open. FFWD to last winter - left hip started squeaking, grinding, popping, etc.&nbs...

Just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with operating a push mower or a weed whacker with an ICD implant? They say avoid chainsaws, but just wondering if mower vibrations can make the devise go off? Thanks.

A week and a half after surgery my wound started to seep. I have made sure to follow all directions post procedure. I was double sutured underneath, and had surgical glue over the top. Looks as though the wound shifted slightly, and the incision mark has separated from the skin. Not too bad of a leak, but am just wondering if others have had the same thing? My first pacemaker didn't have any issues with the incision, but the doctors left the bandages on. This time they pulled everything o...

I am 31 years old and recently breast fed my baby for a year. I weight 102 lbs. and the breast feeding left me with concaved looking/ and very flat chested. I have a pacemaker submammary- which means its under my breast muscle. They cut and went in from the bottom of my breast.
Im looking for ANY information anyone has about breast implants and submammary placed pacemakers since they seem to be located in the same region.
Thank you immensly!

I have had a pacemaker fitted recently. My BP seems to have gone down to 80/50. Can this be due to the pacemaker or not

I am new to the club and currently waiting for a pacemaker to be fitted. After speaking with some friends last week, one mentioned that the pacemaker would be very limiting which isn't how I have been looking at it. However, she mentioned that fun things like rollercoasters were out of the question once it's in place. I am quite the adrenaline junky and was disappointed to hear this and didn't quite believe it.
Has anyone been on any rollercoasters since having their device...
I'm moving to another city, anything I should tell my cardiologist before moving?

I'm moving roughly 500 miles south of where I reside now and I'm not sure if I need to let my doctor know or not. I know I scan my pacemaker with a device every six months or so I can imagine it may be thrown off if I am residing in another city. Am I overthinking this or should I let my doctor know so proper precautions should take place?
P.S I got a copy of my medical records from the office but have not spoken with the doctor yet at all.
Thanks,

Hello! I know there are lots of posts about this already but just interested to see peoples recent experiences. The other day I was awkwardly reaching to the back of a cupboard (for snacks obviously) and felt a sudden sharp pain over my PM site. I immediately recoiled my arm. The next day I had my arm up on top of the sofa and felt the same pain. Overnight, and this is very very hard to explain but just to the left of my PM scar I now have what look like 2 new tiny scars. Like the scar a stit...

I am a 54 year old man who is on my 2nd device in three years. I had a dual lead pacemaker installed originally, and now had to be upgraded. Over a week ago I recieved the BV ICD and am on CRT with it. I had developed cardiomyopathy for some unknown reason and had to be on a life vest for over four months. Primary doctor believes it's due to a virus? I am in recovery, and am feeling good. Still a little sore in the upper left shoulder as the device and insicion heal in place. I am no...

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a musician who joined the "Cardiac Arrest Club" in late Jan. of this year and am currently fitted w/ an S-ICD. I was wondering if there are any drummers +/or guitarists (electric) here at Pacemaker Club who have been living w/ an S-ICD or ICD. Just wondering about your experiences since device implantation.
Thanks!

I had defibulator installed 04/18/2019. Doctor took out by old pacemaker and two leads and replaced with defribullator and 3 leads. When laying in bed on my back or setting hunkering over using my cell phone I noticed a regular jumping in my chest that I didn't have if I was walking around the room or setting in a different position. Any comments would be welcome as to what might be causing this chest jumping or when it will go away. Thanks.

Hi all!
I'm 33 and got an ICD implanted January 2019 because I had a sudden cardiac arrest at work mid-December. Here's the situation - I've generally had a hard time finding work that I'm happy with and "passionate" about. Since my SCA, I've been re-evaluating things quite a bit and thinking to myself "Do more of what makes you happy." My SCA actually happened 1.5 weeks into training for a new job. I was excited because I finally landed a jo...

1) SEX with a partner! I’m not advised against it, but the idea of my pacemaker wound is kinda weird. I am guessing that I will just have to take my time in the healing & then things will get back to normal.
2) I’ve a solid hourglass figure… go...

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
