Dizziness While Standing Up

I have a BV ICD recently installed, and am on CRT with a minimum set heart rate of 60 BPM. I feel good, but have difficulty standing up from a kneeling position. I am out weeding my flowwer beds, and stand up to move, then start to get dizzy and feel as though I am going to black out. Had my cardiology appointment the other day and my BP was 120/80. Was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy with 22% EF in left ventricle and 31% EF in right ventricle. Post surgery xrays revealed enlarged heart consistent with CHF. Was cathed in December and was clear. I am on a beta blocker and other BP drugs. I am on my 2nd PM devise as I was originally diagnosed with Bradycadia and other electrical issues in 2015. Anyone out there have a similar situation while trying to stand up from a kneeling position? I see my regular doctor in a few days. Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. I did do some more gardening and stood up slower, and felt better this time. Also bent over from a standing position and back up again several times with no issues. I also wonder if the leads in the veins restrict the blood flow to the heart and less volume comes out causing the issue? Thanks again.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.

This is not at all uncommon. In fact it's a quite common side effect of beta blockers and heart conditions, in general. I too have dizzyness if I stand too fast from lying on the floor. I don't have cardiomyopathy (but have a CRT-P) and have a normal LVEF. I would imagine that most here have some degreee of dizzyness upon standing quickly from a kneeling position. Learn to get up more slowly (or go with the flow and enjoy the rush ;-).
