Just wanted to know if anyone has had issues with operating a push mower or a weed whacker with an ICD implant? They say avoid chainsaws, but just wondering if mower vibrations can make the devise go off? Thanks.

My EP said "no riding mowers or welding" but all other tools were fine, as long as I was careful to keep the motors away from the PM and to beware of the sparkplug wires.

Thanks for your inputs. I did have a fella tell me his dad was operating a chain saw and his ICD went off. I guess the thing to do is avoid ignition sources and strong vibrations. Speaking of spark plug wires. About a year ago I got zapped really hard by my sons cars ignition coils. That was on my last pacemaker, and still wonder if that would have thrown my last pacemaker off it normal operation? I never did get a Biotronic checkup after that incident. Thanks again.

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.
Not a problem

Most of those warnings are CYA for the legal people. I use weed whackers all the time, both battery and gas powered. No problems.
Have also used a chain saw to cut down a 30 foot tree. No problems. Mowers shouldn't be a problem either.
As for vibrations, you'll just have to try and find out. I've only had problems with Saws-all saws.
Hope everything else is going well for you.
