I am having my CRT-D implanted on November 1st, 2017. My bestest friend will be supporting me for at least a week and he seems to be planning on staying a bit longer which is lovely. He will also be doing lots of DIY jobs around the house, washing my hair, cooking and keeping exuberant visitors under control. By way of a surprise thank you, I am thinking of booking us in for a spa weekend perhaps in January or February. Does anyone know of any reasons why this would not be a good idea? I have...

Hello all! My name is alexa and I am 20 years old and had a pacemaker implated last week due to bradycardia and a second degree AV block that would send me into total block. I am so excited to start feeling better but because I am so young, I am a little nervous about what life looks like with this new devise. I have some questions!
-what restrictions do you have with this? (Sports, drinking (not that I drink but for the future) and or/ just other life things?)

Day 17. My PM pocket is still puffy. I was back on Eliquis after surgery, probably a mistake because I have apparent bleeding of tissue in.around the pocket. Causing what looks like bruising around the pocket and in the upper arm. On day 9 I wass taken off eliquis, Still puffy. How long does it normally take for swelling to recede? There is no warmth in the area, I am using ice several times a day.
thank you

Pacemaker Hacking

I read that Dick Cheney had his wireless PM disabled due to potential hacking. I read that whilst reading a list of famous people who have pacemakers.
Is this for real?
Someone else also told me about this hacking scam, as they had seen a programme on it. Anyone any thoughts on this?
Are there any obvious advantages to a wireless Pacemaker? Do the batteries run out quicker?
Thanks!

Hello all. Im new here. I'm 33 years old, had no health issues and now hear I am with a pacer. I went in to er with hot and tingly sensations feeling like anxiety attack. Oh no, apparently I have sinus block. Longest pause 7 seconds. I flat lined while sitting up talking. Doctors have no explanation as to why I have this as all tests were normal. Even heart is great. So I'm just wondering if I will ever feel like the same person as now I just feel like a different one. Thanks all

Hello
I am presently in hospital being evaluated for a pacemaker. Apparently a Holter 24 hours revealed a very brief occurrence of Mobitz 1 and 2. I understand that 2 is the problem that may cause me to have to have a pacemaker. Here now for two days and they havent found a repeat of same. I also have no physical symptoms at all of heart block. Although I do get palpitations, which I believe is due to anxiety.
Feeling anxious about next two days as by then they will make a de...

Hello,
I am 66 years old. When I was 40 years old, I had suffered serial pass out episodes. Doctor decided I need a pacemaker. I still pass out with the pace maker. Doctor did a till table test on me and told me my passing out has to do with Vasovagal disorder – he put me on atenolol (beta blocker). After atenolol, I did not pass out again and my pace maker was set at 30 beats per minute (BPM). About 12 years later pace maker is low on ba...

I have a Medtronic biventricular pacer for complete heart block. I will be replacing it shortly with a new pacer due to low battery life. Two of my leads are MRI certified but the left ventricular lead has not been certified. Apparently Medtronic decided it was not worth it to certify these leads since only 10,000 were implanted and the lead was discontinued about a year or so ago. So even with a new MRI capable pacer without all the leads certified the system is not considered MR...

I wanted to try isolation tank float therapy, but they say I can’t because of my pacemaker. I can’t find or think of any reason why this would be a risk. Anyone else know?

Hi folks. I've been a member of this club since Feb 2017 after being diagnosed with 2nd degree type 2 heart block, requiring PM. Totally unexpected diagnosis which blind sided me. This club has been of great support in my times of uncertainty and doubt. The wealth of experience and information has been very reassuring.
I need some advice....I am currently raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and wanted to know if I'm allowed to post details of my Just Giving page on th...

Hi,
I've been diagnosed with high degree heart block and I'm booked in to have a wireless pacemaker fitted in a few weeks time.
Has anyone had a wireless pacemaker fitted? Can see lots of information on the normal pacemakers but nothing on the wireless ones.
Any advice/experience would be great. Did it make you feel better? Recovery time? Also does anyone know what happens when the battery runs out, will they just keep putting new ones in which could...

Hi, I'm 24 days post dual lead pacemaker fitting and doing ok. It was all a bit scary as I'm 50, felt unwell for the last year then heart rate fell to 30, ambulance came, dropped to 21 in CCU and pacemaker fitted 3 days later. Recovering now but wondered how I get the card to fill in with my pacemaker details that you carry with you for health info and airports etc. Can anyone tell me how I get one please x
