Day 17. My PM pocket is still puffy. I was back on Eliquis after surgery, probably a mistake because I have apparent bleeding of tissue in.around the pocket. Causing what looks like bruising around the pocket and in the upper arm. On day 9 I wass taken off eliquis, Still puffy. How long does it normally take for swelling to recede? There is no warmth in the area, I am using ice several times a day.

You might want to have them take a look at it, discuss the eliquis. It doesn't sound like an infection but new bruising is not normal andtthey can tell you if it's normal for being on the meds.

It can take a few weeks for the swelling to go down. If it's fluid, heat may help more than ice. I had swelling more than a month later, they told me to do heating pad on low for 15 minutes. Worked like a charm. But I'd expect some swelling when you're barely two weeks out!
