You pick up a hitchhiker... A beautiful girl. Suddenly she faints inside your car and
you take her to the hospital. Now that's stressful.
But at the hospital, they say she is pregnant and congratulate you that you're going to be a father.
You say that you are not the father, but the girl says you are. This is getting very stressful!
You request a DNA test to prove that you are not the father.
After the tests are completed, The doctor says...

Today I had my PM checked. I told him that I was getting short of breath climbing a flight of stairs --also getting light headed afterwards. He said that was a matter for my cardiologist. My heart has gotten stronger up ejection fraction 55% from 20% a few years ago. But I'm still short of breath in doing anything. They just look at me like---well too bad. I believe the doctors think it's all in your head since nothing shows up on any test that they run. They act like that you should be doing...

Hi all, this is my second post. I have had my pacemaker 8 weeks suffering from AV Block 2nd grade. To date my pacemaker has been reset twice, first 60 bpm, after three weeks I developed arrhytmias, the cardiologist subsequently reset me to 70 and Rate Responsive and put me on bisoprolol (1.25 mg). As my arrhythmias continued my PC was reset to 60 bpm. For the last two weeks I have felt better, the arrhythmias have subsided but only while I am resting. As soon as I get up and move, my heart st...

I have had a dual lead St. Jude pacemaker for 2 years now due to AV block, Mobitz, Type 2. This was placed in an emergency situation. Since it was implanted, I have had a real problem with symptoms from my autoimmune disorder (like Lupus) flaring up. Now my Electrophysiologist wants to replace this unit with a bi-ventricular model that is coated with Parylene, said to be good (hypoallergenic) for patients who suffer from allergies. A test kit was sent from the manufacturer with bits of parts mad...

I am a 57 year-old male. I have just joined. I had a dual lead St. Jude pacemaker put in on November 18, 2014. My heart rate was dropping to 30 while I slept and skipping beats and rarely got above 50. Had this most of my life but never had complications, only tired but assumed it was from working. I felt better almost immediately after surgery but it only lasted for about 2 weeks. I still have good days but also days when i feel like i did before the surgery. I have my second post - op visit in...

We speak casually on this site about 1) electrical problems; and 2) plumbing problems. But is there a third category? Mechanical problems?

Just had my pacemaker replaced. It was 7 years old in Aug and did it's job well! For anyone worrying about a replacement, it was a "piece of cake"! I had a great time fully awake (but numbed) and had a chance to ask the doctor questions that were answered. "When can I drive?"..Tomorrow..."Any restrictions?" ...only one and that is to keep area dry. If taking a shower to cover it with plastic.. The Medtronic rep was there. I went into surgery at 9:30 and out at 10 with a wonderful breakfast waiti...

Went back to St Francis today for pacer adjustment. Wonderful St Jude rep and an exercise physiologist spent an hour and half helping get those settings right for running. Even got me on the treadmill while interrogating the pm. Now I have no excuse to not run....
Also found out today answers to some recent med issues that several hospitalists and specialists could not figure out. My new EP requested another specialist to do a very specific set of tests and bingo, I have answers. He went wa...

This is for my husband who suffers from afib and since I have the opposite problem I can't help. He has siad that he feels a shooting pain and then it's almost as though his heart stops. He is currently on Metoprolol and flecainide. His normal symptoms are a heart rate that gets high and needs intervention to lower it. This is a new sympton and it has him concerned. Any wisdom out there? He doesn't have a PM he is just controlled.

Hello...I had a cardiac ablation done two months ago and a pacemaker put in four weeks ago. My diagnosis was AFib and tacky Brady syndrome. Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the shortness of breath to go away after these two procedures?

Yesterday made 3 years that I went into the hospital with a heart rate of 240-260 after refereeing basketball games. I had open heart surgery when I was 2 months old at Duke. Pacemaker implanted 12/16/2011. I take Pradaxa, Sotalol, Enalapril 2 times a day. I can tell I have gained some weight over the past 3 years due to the meds and lack of energy. I now weigh a whopping 180 and I normally weighed around 170. I know that is only 10 pounds. I am 6'0 tall. I still referee basketball to this day....
