I joined Pacemaker Club and forgot my password, couldn't get a reset, so I rejoined.
Changed my name from Ev to Ev1.
Wanted to thank the many who responded to my posting yesterday, I read them as they came in and am very appreciative for those who took the time to respond. It does make a difference to me and did give me some calm and a little idea of what to initially expect.
Thank you

I just wrote a post that didn't go through. I don't feel like writing it all out again so I'll just ask the question. I nearly three weeks post op for a pm. Sometimes I am aware of it like when I am tired it almost feels heavy. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi! Just joined and Wednesday I did my first airport security passthru. Was not a very good experience as it was a tiny airport in Lewiston, ID. They made me sit in a chair waiting a minimum of 25 minutes for someone to do the pat down. I was not happy since I could not keep an eye on my carry on stuff which had already gone thru. Basically I waited until everyone else was done before they got to me. I was the last one to board.
Hope tomorrow's flight goes better at Sea Tac in Seatt...

I had to lift one end of the couch yesterday. I lifted it with my right hand but am worried that I have done some damage. I had my pacemaker fitted nearly two weeks ago. Would I know if I have done any damage?

Hi All - first post!
Hoping there may be someone else coping with a 2:1 exercise induced heart block?
Backround: Lifelong reasonably fit chap. 42 YO, 1.83 m tall and usually 66 -70 kg. Started a specific training programme at the end of last year and could not get my heart rate to rise above around 150 bpm as it would get to around this figure then drop in half! Seemed to get very tired out, very suddenly and then recover just as quickly. Put it down to being unfit "fo...

They took me first thing in the morning, I had my PM inserted on the right side (because I'm left handed) with a local anesthetic and mild sedative. "Conscious sedation" they call it. There was a tent over my head so I couldn't see anything but was alert throughout, chatting with the two EP cardiologists and overhearing their comments ("That's fat, that's muscle, there it is [the vein]." . First the ventricle lead was attached, then the atrial lead. With each lead the technician counted off volt...

Hi all my lovely pacemaker friends!
I had the surgery to reposition my pacemaker 5 days ago cause the old position was rubbing against my bone causing extreme pain and discomfort. The surgery went OK only thing due to lack of muscle by my collar bone the surgeon had to place it right in my left breast, so the post op pain and discomfort is to terrible, but praying its worth it in the long run! All I can say is don't be quiet and scared about going to your cardio about strange pain cau...

Been some time from my last post, so a short up date.
I been hanging in there, still fighting fluid weight. Been swinging 5- 8 lbs a week. I am finding that I been getting a little weaker. It is getting to the point that taking a bath wipes me out.
I been to my EP a week ago. He adjusted my CRT-D as best as they can. Was even thinking of adding a 4th wire, but backed off on that idea do to my transplant team doctors telling the EP no way.
On my good days, I been...

Well, it's almost two weeks post-op for my pm and I am feeling really well. I had my steri strips removed at the doctor's office yesterday and the scar looks good. Those dissolvable stitches really did the trick. I have had no dizziness nor any indication of syncope whatsoever. There is one thing I want to know about though. Does anyone feel a desperate need to cough sometimes? It's just like one cough and is a bit weird. I was wondering if that has anything to do with my heart. I know I'm...

There have been posts on here in the past regarding the donation of used PMs to poorer nations around the world. As you know, when we die, our PMs are removed by a mortician prior to cremation or are buried with us !
They could be put to good use if we could remove them, sterilise them and transport them to implant centres in countries where the cost of buying a new PM is completely prohibitive â¦.. people around the world are dying because they simply cannot afford to buy a PM
