Aware of the PM

I just wrote a post that didn't go through. I don't feel like writing it all out again so I'll just ask the question. I nearly three weeks post op for a pm. Sometimes I am aware of it like when I am tired it almost feels heavy. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Yes

Mine sticks out to begin with. While not painful, sometimes it feels more prominent and "tight" under my skin as if it is pushing up.

But my scar erupts about 4-8 times per month anyway. Sometimes the "tightness" occurs right before the eruption but not always. Just part of my new normal now.

Since you are only 3 weeks out you may become aware of it less and less. As long as there is no pain you should be fine.

All sorts of sensations

Yeah, I get all sorts of sensations and I'm 9 weeks out. Current problem is a tightness when I'm exercising. They told me not to use the arm and screamed at me if I did. Consequently my arm got stiff and the wound healed "tight". So now I have all sorts of sensations.

As long as it doesn't get sore, turn red, or get blotches you're OK. If it does get sore, turn red, or get blotches you'll want to have it medically checked out.

Doc said give it three months before I can start doing more strenuous exercise. He's got people who are swimming so they have close to full motion of the arm.

Hang in there. It gets better.

Mine bounced

When I would walk I could feel my PM "bouncing" under my skin. After a couple of weeks it seemed to settle in better but when I started running again I could feel it bounce and had to recondition to that movement as well.

You know you're wired when...

You have a new body part.
