Hi! Just joined and Wednesday I did my first airport security passthru. Was not a very good experience as it was a tiny airport in Lewiston, ID. They made me sit in a chair waiting a minimum of 25 minutes for someone to do the pat down. I was not happy since I could not keep an eye on my carry on stuff which had already gone thru. Basically I waited until everyone else was done before they got to me. I was the last one to board.
Hope tomorrow's flight goes better at Sea Tac in Seattle!

That is not the way it's usually done! Maybe the combination of the small airport and holidays? I dunno, but I've flown more times than I can count with a pm and generally they are very courteous and careful to make sure I can see my bags at all times. The only time I've had to wait was when it was mostly men working, they need a female assist for women, but it's never been more than a few minutes. Sea Tac should have the 3d scanners, we can go through those so you may not need a pat down. Your next flight should be better.
You may have already gone

thru Sea Tac but I went thru Sea Tac out of AK & then return to AK last Feb. Make sure you tell the lead TSA (person checking ID's), I told someone else & they were very busy & directed me to the metal detector. I have not been in one since 2000 & didn't recognize it. Had to go thru twice as my new knees were causing a beeping. Nothing from PM-hah. Finally they asked if I had any metal in me. Well yeah 2 new knees & the PM. So ended up with a pat down, not a problem as usual stuff. But outgoing in Anchorage, outgoing in Seattle I made sure I went thru the new scanner. No problem & happily my PM didn't care about the trip (x2) thru the metal detector. Just have your PM card in hand & make sure they hear you & see it if necessary & go thru the new scanners. Enjoy your trip.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. I will be on the lookout at Sea Tac for the 3d. I got my pm March 3, 2013. Had been having dizzy spells and the dr had me go to the hospital to get a monitor to bring home on Mar 1. When they did the baseline test, they said I needed to be life flighted to Spokane. Since I was on warfarin they had to feed me vit k to thicken my blood and it will clot better so they couldn't put pm in til Sunday. Shocking that the life flight cost over $35k, but thankfully my insurance paid for it. We now have life flight insurance @ a cost of only $60 per year for both of us. s
What will really be iinterestiing is to see how I do with the pm while travelling in Asia. That is where I am headed to tonight.
