Worried mother-2year old son to receive pm

Hi everyone! So releaved to have found this wonderful support group. I'm a mother of 2 children,a daughter turning 8 in June, and my son turning 3 in May. My 1st son was born in 2004 but died on the 4th day after birth, due to a very rare heart defect. To make a long story short,it seems the genes in our families males are bad news!! My husbands grandfather died when 35,had a slow heart rate, and on 35 it stopped! While still pregnant with my son Jayden, who's turning 3 in May,my dr picked up an irr...

Afib and coumadin

I am taking coumadin for afib and I hate it. I hate giving myself rat poison but I'm afraid to stop because of stroke risk. I have had a pm for a while but I am cursed with afib. Anyone taking anything else to prevent stroke that's a little easier on the system.

intermittent AV Block and fatigue

Hi, anyone else out there have intermittent AV Block? Did you have fatigue symptoms? If so, did getting a PM improve that?

I'm hoping to hear from people who specifically had intermittent heart block, not block 100% of the time.

My block is frequent but intermittent, but my fatigue is chronic. Not sure if the block is behind it, or how much better I would feel on a PM. Please share your experience if you were in this same boat.

Thanks much!

AV delay & optimisation question

Hi all
Further to my post 2 days ago, I have a result!

Many thanks to Idebaugh who helped me with this. Yesterday I e-mailed the Head of Pacing (who has been trying to sort my problem out with my EP) & asked her if my problem of neck pressure & breathlessness etc could be due to the AV delay on my PM. I had an AV node ablation in October & have been 100% ventricle paced since then......& I've had these symptoms since then. Previously I was only 100% atrial paced (due to sin...

Good morning all

Just to let ya'll know that I'm back home. Only one night stay this trip. Thank God for that. They did get a few pounds of fluid off me. They also doubled my dubutamine. My hickman line is still pluged on one side. I have to go back next Friday for a check up and to see if they can unplug it. If not, they will have to put a new one in. That will be number 5 in 14 months.

Doubling the dubutamine has it problems. Kind of lite headed and off blance. My heart is working much more as I can...

Heart Failure

Just sort of wondering about symtoms and relief from them. I am going from no symtoms to being short of breath, tired all the time, stomache pains with no clear cause, muscle aches, weight gain, chest pain and about everything else I can think of. They have doubled my water pill to try and aese the strain on my heart, but that is it. I'm kinda getting scared, but I wonder what they can do to really help. I have been hospitalized for short periods but am not too bad when I don't do anything! What...

I am new here

I have had pacemaker now for 3 years. When first implanted it paced me approx 55 percent of the time. Yesterday I had my three month check and now it is at 70 percent and they tell me I am fine nothing to worry about. Apparently I had a 45 second episode or racing heart just after my last check. I saw the my cardiologist and he says I am fine and these things happen and unless they get much much worse I will be alive til I am 100......now is he pacifying me. I am very in shape, I have my ma...

Hep with Afib

Just wanted to let you all in on a little hint that might help with your arrhythmias. I have had electrical problems since the early 1990’s. I was just the ninth person to have the Maze procedure at the Cleveland Clinic in 1991. I was supposed to be the fifth but the doctor got the Flu and I was postponed. I’ve also had four ablations, one taking 9 ½ hours.

Have been lucky in that the doctor has been able to keep me of medications most of the time. Over the years I’ve be...

Hard cord-like thing above pacemaker site?

I am 2 months, 11 days post pacemaker lead extraction ( atrial). Since January, I've been palpating what seems to a hard cord or tube-like thing underneath the skin right above the pulse generator. It start right after the incision line and continues on ( at least what I can palpate) up to my clavicle bone. Also, there is an area of what I call " hard swelling" ( but minimal) right next to this tube thing I feel. What could this be? My dad is an ultrasonographer and would like to do a sonogram t...

Check ups

Hello my good friends
I have yet again been for my check up and have to go again in 3 months time. This is because apparently my battery is wearing down. Just wondering how much longer it will be before I have to go and have it changed. This was my 2nd time I had a 3 month check up. My consultant said 6 months ago he will have to sort out which type I am going to have. The one I have now was implanted in 2004, is it because it is now (out dated) that he has to decide or does he think...

Recent PM

I recently has my PM put in on 1/28 still in a lot of pain. Went today to have staples removed today and they decided to take lots of x rays. The one thing she mentioned was that my shoulder was manipulated during surgery and that could be causing my pain. My concern is I have already had 3 shoulder surgeries in the past and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in my shoes? I'm still having to take pain meds and not sleeping well.

Thanks in advance

CRT.. when did you get it

Hey everyone, been a little while since I have been on here. Just had lots of things going on. I am curious at what point people were switched to biventricular pacing due to lower EF. I got my pacer in 2009. At that point my EF was 60-65% Since then my EF has steadily declined. In sept of last year I reached the 45-50% mark. We talked about adding the third lead, but decided to wait until the next echo. In december I had an echo which surprisenly was read at 55-60% I felt aweful in janu...
