Do any truck driver's out there know the fmcsa stance on drivers with ICD's. I've checked their web site and there is no mention of pacemaker's/defibs. I drove OTR before my ICD and was seriously thinking about getting back on the road but unsure if i still qualify or not ??????? Help

My cardiologist informed me today. Returning to OTR driving is simply out of the question for my specific conditions. SUCKS LOL.....Because today I was offered a driving position that guaranteed HOME every weekend @ $50,000 a year. "such is life"
CDL and ICD's

If there are any other truck driver out there wondering whether or not they would qualify to still drive. Apparently if its a pacemaker alone a Dr. can sign off on your DOT physical card and you'll qualify, but if you have a ICD you are disqualified under FMCSA's guide line's. Here is a link for the FMCSA

I am pretty sure this is correct, someone please correct me if I'm wrong... Some countries/states will vary but in general you can have any license with a pacemaker unless you are passing out. You can get a regular license but not a CDL with an ICD. This has been discussed here many times, if you search the old posts it should come right up.
