I have had my PM since 11/2009 ~ still going strong, but I am starting to have personal questions to myself. The heart doctor said at my last December check up, I would need a replacement in 2017 ~ my 1st replacement ever.
What I am wondering, is how does a person feel when their PM is running out of energy? Can I/Will I be able to feel this? Since I am 100% dependent, is there a possibliity it would just quit on me? I trav...

Hi
I am about to get a PM for av block and a low resting pulse rate around 35 bpm. They are going to put in a Bosten Scientific BiV with blended sensor. I am extremly active. I have been a top US ulta Runner from ages 30 to 45. I am now 56. I am a little nervious about the pacemaker. I seem to see only negative comments. Are there more good experiences than negative?
I have also been having stomach problems and was wondering if this could be re...

Hi
I’m new to the site and just wanted to say hello. I’ve had a pacemaker since I was 11 and I’m now 37. I feel grateful for the fact that I’m alive and try to enjoy it as much as possible!
I had very serious complications in 2008 when the wires were changed, but apart from that my pacemakers over the years have helped me live a very full and active life. I love sports of all types and go to the gym, pl...

Today is special......5 years ago I received my little guardian angel, my internal bling as we pacer chicks like to call it.
I met great people on here who helped me through the rough spots in the beginning and who now I consider friends.
Happy Birthday to my little "energizer bunny"....life is so much better because of you!

Here goes my story, I had a massive heart attack April 2011, Easter Sunday. Died and came back. ICU for 14 days, had pacemaker/defibrillator implanted. Went back to work June 7th. Had a great time on my 60th birthday (being alive). I don't smoke or drink. I am VERY ACTIVE!!! Driving my service truck at 55, defibrillator shocked me not once, not twice, but 11 TIMES, you read correct, 11TIMES. ER and hospital kept me overnight. Next day discharged MALFUNCTION. Problem today, 18 months later, haven...

I did my transmission on my PM this morning over the phone. My PM is a little over 7 years old. It has been very good to me. It is getting near the end of its young life. I have done this kind of surgery 3 times before. It doesn't get any easier. They said I have about 5 to 16 more months left of the battery. I will do another transmission in January to see where it stands at that time. I am not looking forward to it but I need it done every few months. Luckily I have had good experienc...

I was helping my Son tune in his racecar for Saturdays dirt Championships and had the motor at a high RPM's after adjusting the valves, I felt a small pain in the middle of my chest, after we killed the motor on the car, I felt my heart beating at least 95 plus bpm plus a little stomach fluttering, I took some deep breaths trying to bring the rate down. I have SSS and this is the first time in 6 weeks or more that my HR jumped up, I later went home and laid down for the night and as soon as I d...

Hi everyone,
I have mentioned in the past that my meds have been changed from metroprolol to bisoprolol and now to diltiazem. It has been 19 days since I started the medicine and believe me, being lightheaded plus headaches to go with it did not sit very well with me. I have to wait this long to report it (well, with lots of allergies..I have to know which one I'm reacting to)...today was the worst because during my morning walk, my eyes started to see dark spots?????
So I called and w...

Been a week or so from my last post. Hope everyone is doing good. Myself, well all good thigs come to a past. I had a good run of "good" days which came to a end. Been feeling real bad the last week. Really bad yesterday to the point I had to hit up my nitro a couple times and was about to hit the ER. I have been sleeping more then normal. Real tired all the time along with a very bad case of heartburn. That is something I haven't had and a couple years. I did talk to my nurse yesterday morning...

I fell from a ladder approx. 12-15 ft. I do not remember anything from that day. I had my pacemaker checked approx. a year before I fell and when they interigated the pacemaker they said that I had 5 years left on my battery. And I was using it only 29% of the time. Three weeks after the fall my pacemaker started pacing me, whiuch was not normal.
When I went to had the pacemaker checked they could not interigate the pacemaker they said the battery was completly dead....

I have just finished my first 3 weeks with a Boston Scientific PM. Things are progressing well -- I have less dizziness, more energy, and strength than b4 implantation. This morning I got up and felt really good -- something I haven't felt for some time.
Over the 3 weeks, I've noticed what seems to be a progression in my heart rate and ability to exercise more -- for instance, at first it seemed that I had a hard time getting my HR fast enough to feel good walking up stairs or on a...

Hi all,
New to this posting. I have had pacemaker for 12 years. Most recent echo showed mild to moderate pulmonary artery hypertension. I am booked to see PAH specialist in a week and a half. Wondered if anyone has had this issue as a result of having the pacemaker. My concerns are how it will progress. I do not have any other conditions associated with PAH. I do have a lot of the symptoms though. SOB, chest pressure, and recently had a bout of dizziness ( I think that was relate...

I got my pm 3 days ago. I get random twitches or jerks in my abdomen, seems like below the rib cage on the left side. Every few hours I was getting 3 or 4 in a row. Sometimes sitting and at times while lying down. The last time it was like 16 in row. Is this any ways half normal or not? I am on the thin side. If a lead was displaced would it not be more constant? I am getting a little concerned.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
