Hello

I don't live in the US thank god ! Surely there is some system in place to help someone who has no insurance and no cash get a new battery ?

I cannot begin to imagine how desperate you must be feeling, Dogcatcher. I cannot believe that you have to leave your country .

Best of luck

Ian

I do have some money that is why I am trying to find another country that is cheaper, I can afford 8-10,000 but not the 30,000 I have been quoted here in the US, just kind of scared to go to another country to get it done.

American System

by IRONFISH - 2012-10-10 09:10:32

I am not insured either.

It seems to me that how the American System works is:
You work hard, buy insurance for your house, car, business, inability to work, coverage is you need to continous care or skilled nursing care...

So you buy all the insurance the saleman can think up to sell you. Then you find out you are not covered like you were led to beleive you are. Your insurance company is in business to make $ for its SHAREHOLDERS. The American Government, allows the Insurance companies not to payoff on legitimate claims. You frequently must hire Legal Representation to FORCE your insurer to pay off on your legitimate claim. Woe be if you did not READ the terms of your preceive insurance policy.

Our health care insurers are almost all FOR PROFIT COMPANIES, they have to make money for their Shareholders to stay in business. Whose fault? I think it is all of us, our Government thinks how the insurers are operating is okay. We are not having fits, as a country. It is just when we need medical help in a large way that we realize what a mess we are in.

Just give all your money away, die poor. I see responsible people in that mess all the time.
People that were successful business people, used their $ wisely, bought homes, educated their children. Then they become ill. Boom it is all gone.

Google on...

...":Medical tourism" or "medical Vacations."

Be prepared for an avalanche of hits & research on where you can go for good quality care.

The US is not the only place you can get a decent medical job done. A lot of the Dr's where you can go are trained in The US, UK. Canada, etc. Or have done their resident /fellowship training in one of those countries.

You will also find no language barrier in those places.
