Pulmonary hypertension related to pacemaker

Hi all,

New to this posting. I have had pacemaker for 12 years. Most recent echo showed mild to moderate pulmonary artery hypertension. I am booked to see PAH specialist in a week and a half. Wondered if anyone has had this issue as a result of having the pacemaker. My concerns are how it will progress. I do not have any other conditions associated with PAH. I do have a lot of the symptoms though. SOB, chest pressure, and recently had a bout of dizziness ( I think that was related to a day prior with not eating and drinking enough)

On Sotolol and Nadalol for frequent arrhythmias!!! Thanks for your responses.n

PAH and chest pressure

by ldebaugh - 2012-10-09 03:10:20

I was diagnosed with Pulmonary hypertension about 5 years ago. I suspected that it was the beta blockers that I was taking and got off Toporol XL and Cozaar and all the symptoms went away. I was having a lot of side effects from those drugs for years and did not know that they were side effects (numbness, UTis, flashing lights and headaches). When the PAH was diagnosed something just told me it had to be the drugs. And it was, so getting off them really helped get rid of many side effects.

Next, i had intense chest pressure this past year and found out that the 2:1 block feature on my PM was causing it. I got them to raise the level (actually it was 4 different settings related to it) and the pressure went away

I can't say whether these things would help for you, but it is something to check out.
Good luck!
