Hi my baby boy was diagnosed with third degree CHB when I was 24 weeks pregnant. My son is now 4 months old and his heart rate ranges from 40-60 bpm. He is having a.very hard time gaining weight and has been hospitalized twice because of.it despite a high calorie intake.. he tires very easily and sweats alot while doing simpliest things. The cardiologist keep upping the calories but we havent seen much results. His hands and feet often turn blue but yet they still insist on waiting for the pm....

I got my pacemaker 1 1/2 years ago. I haven't really had much for issues after receiving it until a few weeks ago. I had been taken off of Plavix 6 mo. ago. I have had some discomfort in my arm some, but nothing that worried me. I also noticed that the veins coming up from the pacemaker and down the shoulder into my arm were very visible. Two weeks ago when I was dressing for work, I noticed that my sleeve was hard to pull onto my arm. My arm was swollen hard as a rock from the shoulder do...

I am suffering severe pain in my left wrist and hand. My work requires me to reach above my head, maybe 30 times a day. I did not put my left arm above my head for the first thirty days after my implant. I am convinced it has something to do with the pacemaker/defib, has anyone else suffered from this type of pain?
It is equivilent to a kidney stone. It goes away when I stand up and let my arm hang down normally, please advise.

Hi All
So happy to have found this site.
I had my first pacemaker inserted in 1997, inserted age 18 after years of extensive testing that resulted in Neurocardiogenic Syncope diagnosis. I was a dancer but unfortunately pacemaker and drug therapy wasn't enough to be able to continue that profession. I became quite unwell in 2000 and they discovered lead fracture that required replacement. They anticipated removing fractured lead and threading new lead. During surgery th...

This is my first post.
In May 2011 I received a Medtronic Adapta 2 lead pacemaker after being diagnosed with trifascicular block. My only symptom was that I blacked out at home.
Within 5 days of receiving the PM I started experiencing dizziness and nausia. Other symptoms include shortness of breath when climbing stairs or lifting heavy objects and fluttering in my chest.
This has been going on intermitantly ever since. I can go 2 weeks or more with very few symptoms and then ha...

Thanks, Smitty, Frank, Alison for your reply to my post PM Leads. I had a PM checkup on the 23rd. The PM Tech said I was having PVC's at the rate of 1.8 per hour and everything is ok. My EP said that I would not get twinges from the heart and it must be a muscel. I am still not happy as it is now 17 days,
and are more frequent. What I would like to ask you is could using the computer bring this on, as soon as i start using it the problem starts. I know it does not make sense as i did not h...

Has anyone felt the PM shift?
I have had mine for 2 years, had grown quite used to it.
Half the time, forgot it was even there... but recently, I am constantly feeling a tightness around the area and can actually see the corner through my skin,
I have developed pain in my neck on the side of the PM, may be unrelated, but just checking....
Any input?

I have had an ICD since 2004 and it was replaced last year (11-10) with a 2 lead St Jude model, I have been experiencing vibrating/humming in my chest for 6 months now , I feel mostly at nite at it lasts 2-5 hours at a time. No pain but I am having other medical and dental problems and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have told all my doctors and even when in hospital tried to discover what it is. After several interrogations the rep says works perfect and everyone looks at...

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone for the feed back on my first post after surgery. I had my list of questions for the Dr and he was awesome and sat and answered them, Frank, Cecil and Smitty you guys are awesome. I told the doctor about the weird feeling and the weird feeling I had in my chest was in fact the pacer pacing the problem was that in fact one of the leads had pulled out. So Tuesday I went back under.
Rather then being completely freaked out I felt little prepared for m...

So far it has been 7 weeks and I have sudden, needle pains in my arm and chest. Doc ignores it. I can't. Has this happened to others? Am I doing something I shouldn't? I don't understand why this is such a mystery.

Hi all
I need some urgent help/advice please. Further to ending up in A&E on Friday....today I'm feeling really dizzy everytime I try & walk or climb the stairs. I feel really spaced out too.
They said on Friday my rate response is too aggressive but they left it as otherwise I can't walk or climb stairs.....but now I can't do that today either as I feel so dizzy.
What can I do on a Sunday in the UK? Do I go back to A&E?
I don't know if PM techs are aroun...

Okay, I am post implant and the dizziness has not stopped. The Doc ordered an ECG, revealing only the heart is only pumping at 33%.
Is this a bad thing?
What is the likely outcome?
I looked it up and the literature is mentioning a possible ICD.
Anybody had any experience with this?
Frustrating, I thought the PM was going to do the trick.

Hi all
I was taken ill at work today & sent to A&E at my cardiac hospital. Although I work in a NHS hospital, we have no A&E dept.
It started yesterday. As you know, I'm back at work but on reduced hours at the moment. Last week I was exhausted by Thursday/Friday. Same thing happened this week.
Got home yesterday afternoon & had to go to bed straight away as I felt SO exhausted. Slept for a few hours. It is very unlike me to go to bed in the afternoons!
You know you're wired when...
Your ICD has a better memory than you.
