Shift in PM

Has anyone felt the PM shift?
I have had mine for 2 years, had grown quite used to it.
Half the time, forgot it was even there... but recently, I am constantly feeling a tightness around the area and can actually see the corner through my skin,
I have developed pain in my neck on the side of the PM, may be unrelated, but just checking....
Any input?

l haven't had my PM as long as you (April) but about12wks after, it started getting mobile.
Most of the time l forget l have a PM but somedays l am quite uncomfortable, l get a tight feeling & a stinging sensation .My PM is virtually on its side (most of the time) and the one end sticks up through my skin & l always feel bruised around that area.
Why yours should suddenly move after 2yrs l really dont know but no harm having it checked out. Just hope you dont get accused of fiddling with it & moving it yourself like l did ! ! !
Good luck, Sue x

Shift?

Have you recently lost any weight? I had my ICD put in 2006. After a year of so it became more noticeable under the skin and then after a loss of 20+ lbs it was much more noticeable and could feel the edges and where the leads attach to the top. I have know of a couple people who are very lean and you can see it very clearly under the skin...no fat padding I guess.
I just had mine replaced in Oct and now that the swelling has gone down I notice that this one is much smaller which is nice for women who have less room on the shoulder.
If you haven't had something hit the area or pushed it...I would guess its just normal healing, scar tissue....after 5 yrs with my first implant....would still have spells where it felt tight and "shifted".

PM Shift!!

Hi, I was very fortunate with my 1st & 2nd PM. My 3rd PM since 1992 was implanted in the same pouch but always end up lower & move around more. Eventually erosion started and 1 corner also was a problem. Monitoring this for nearly a year this corner started a brown spot , size of a dime and PM removal was in order. Luckily no infection had started which can become a real problem but I was still put on heavy antibiotics. I just wanted to mention to really keep checking your site so especially having more pain. In my case I had developed a lot of scar tissue surrounding each PM so I had to have my 4th PM implanted in my right chest & 2 new leads. I did have to have 2 surgeries to restore my old left site. The bonus is even being right handed my right chest implant is so much more comfortable and I did luck out by getting things taken care of before suffering infection. donb

Thanks guys, I did go in today, and had it checked out, the techs say its normal. like icdbiker says, they think loss of weight could have triggered the shift. Nothing I can do about it...guess just get used to it.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
