Well we are 5 weeks post ablation and having great days and no quite so good but allowing myself to be much more positive. Have done some proper walking and paddling which was a total shock to the rest of my body lol! especialy since I am now 54!!!.

Setting changed but don't understand it

Hi

so yesterday just before my subcutaneous ICD box was changed I had my pacemaker checked.  They changed it to include breath response rate setting max up to 120bpm. This was based on the bar graphs showing distribution - my heart rate sits around 60 (bradycardia) as ppm stops it and not much higher.  They said that my heart rate not increasing on activity could be partly why I get short of breath. Firstr post Inplant Consultation with EP and St Jude Device Tech

Two nights ago I finally got my Merlin St Jude Transmitter up and running (my inplant date for my CRT-D) was July 18th).  Yesterday My EP's office called and requested my presence ASAP.  When I arrived this am I was relieved to find out that my problem wasn"t a broken lead or an infection at the wound site but rather the need for some tweaking of my device.  I left the office with my breathlessness problem resolved and feeling great.  An hour or so later we arrive...

Six month check

Just had a pacemaker checkup at the cardiologist . They said, " You had one episode of atrial fibrillation on the pacemaker interrogation. Otherwise, the readout was unremarkable". Is there anything to worry about. The Dr that did the check is not my regular  cardiologist. He said to ask my regular Dr. about it. I see my regular cardiologist in about a month.

Here we go again

Hi,

i joined this club in 2009 after having my pacemaker put in and following complications.

I was told that I was not allowed print outs of my pm check ups. Eventually I found a way of getting them by paying to access my medical records. I had to work this out for myself and was initially told I was not allowed them

once I received my results, I posted them on here and started to learn about what they meant. This helped me so much.

What and how much will they record?

Recently (4 months) I had a Medtronic CRT-D implanted (Viva, Quad XT CRT-D) and was just wondering just how much and what type of data they are capable of detecting and storing?

Reason I ask is I think I'm getting more "odd" little beats than I did initially and have some days that I feel a little "off" for want of a better word. I simply wondered what types of event is the device capable of recording that are not serious as such but possibly worthy of note. Also...

Adjustments post ablation..

Still waiting for my appointment to get my AV node ablated for chronic Pacemaker reentry tachycardia,

Any idea how soon they alter your settings, guessing some will be imediate but was wondering how long "you" take to settle after this procedure. Will ask at the time but would appretiate any info.

hi everyone out there.  Hope you're all doing ok.  Went yesterday to check my dual lead pm cuz the last few weeks (basically since I was last there for a check) my complaint was missed beats off and on throughout the days and sometimes a rapidly beating heart for no apparent reason.  I always know when something strange is going on as I cough each time my rate changes.  Also it was doing a check/test every eight hours.  That was set up at my last visit.  ...

Pacing

If myBiotronic Eluna lower limit is set at 60 BPM and my resting heart rate is consistently over 70 BPM, does that indicate I am not being paced?  CLS is on. I am considering having CLS turned off to conserve battery and see how I feel. I would like to be minimally dependent. Thoughts?

Bag of nerves...

Well I've got my appointment with the specialist on Tuesday, so nervous have managed to always talk myself round and think positive , but this time is so different . Trying not to get to hopeful but at the same time desperate to get well, the PMT / SVT or what ever is really wearing me down all most constant and so difficult to sleep.

1 year anniversary checkup

Had my checkup yesterday. Tech changed parameters on my Biotronik Eluna. Could not get my rate over 120 when jogging. (I have sinus node disorder.) Now, CLS sensitivity upped to high and rate increased to 130. Went for a jog after work and felt great. Best I have felt after jogging in years.Increased CLS sensitivity should help when ski season arrives. New issues

Hi all. Went to the pacemaker clinic a few days ago to check. First time here in my home town, as we were away for the winter when I had to have the surgery. So he was checking and all of a sudden I felt that familiar heart flutter. When I asked the doctor what was going on, he said he was doing a test. Okay, so then everything went back to normal, but he said that now it will remotely do the test every eight hours. Silly me, I didn't think to ask him for how long. It's a bit annoying as...

Another issue to deal with

Saw the St Jude tech and my cardiologist today. I have had issues with my heart racing and shortness of breath. The tech said that it was my heart racing and not the pacemaker. I am being paced at 2 % on the top and 100% on the bottom. My cardiologist has doubled my beta blocker in hopes that it will take care of the fast heart beat. Overdrive pacing

Hi, I have read somewhere that the pacemaker can be set to overdrive pacing and this may stop Atrial Flutter. My husband has had paroxmyl AF since he had the pacemaker fitted. He is on Bisoprolol 2.5 and although this helps it doesnt stop the AF completely.

Reason for the pacemaker was low pulse rate resulting in syncope. He has SSS.

Remote Interrogation Yesterday

Hello,
I had my Saint Jude ICD (CD3365-40Q) implanted 6 months ago. I am feel ok. A remote interrogation of the device was performed today. As I am new to this:
Should I request a copy of the report?
Is the report readable ( I am an engineer not a doctor)?
As far as the next few years, what is cycle of monitoring and reporting I can expect? Any advice on what I should ask my doctors?

Just trying to understand what to expect and what questions I should be ask...

Issues with St Jude PM 2210

St Jude Medical PM 2210 implanted JUL 2013. I am age 57 now and in great health except for the PM side affects:

1) syncope - fainted on hard pavement this past Thursday.
2) electrical shock/pain/discomfort
3) chest pain around the PM
4) left arm pain
5) tingling fingers left hand
6) light-headed, dizzy, anxiety
7) fainting spells
8) shortness of breath, fatigue

Find an EP at my location

Hi.....I am a resident of Arizona and live there during the winter. I have a cardiologist there who implanted my pacemaker this past January. I am currently in N. California where we stay during the summers and while here will be due for my 6 month checkup by an EP in mid-July.. How can I find an EP in my area which is in the general area of Lodi (preferably) and Sacramento County.
