Well we are 5 weeks post ablation and having great days and no quite so good but allowing myself to be much more positive. Have done some proper walking and paddling which was a total shock to the rest of my body lol! especialy since I am now 54!!!.
Back at the consultant yesterday. he dropped my lower rate down to 60 and even last night I felt more settled. Also going back on Bisoprolol (BB) for a while as he thinks I'm getting some inappropiate Sinus tachy, which could be due to everything that has been going on. Hopefuly the SN will stop trying to do the samba.Go back in October and fingers x things will have settled even more, he said the heart does like to keep doing what it's always done and can take a while to adapt a new rhythm.
Holiday in 2 weeks so looking forward to it and the start of a new chapter, fingers x
Once again a big thank you for all the support
Jane xx

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
Three Months To Fully Heal
by Artist - 2016-08-21 22:47:13
My EP and cardiologist have said that it takes up to three months for the ablation burns to completely heal and the scar tissue to fully form. It is that scar tissue that is supposed to isolate the tissues which are sending the errant signals that are kicking off the arrythmias. I had my ablation on May 27th. My cardiologist refuses to adjust my medications until I reach the 3 month point. I still have short AFIB episodes, but nothing like the agressive arrythmias that lasted for hours and even a whole days before the ablation. I have been told I will always need to take Eliquis or another blood anti-coagulent, but, I am hoping to get entirely off the beta blockers (sotalol) that make me feel so sluggish. Regarding being 54 and exercising, it is all a matter of what you are used to, and your attitude and physical conditioning. At 54, I was bicycling through the Texas hill country 17 miles three days a week and 27 miles on one additional day and averaged 15 MPH. I started that at 50 and did it through 65 years of age. I am 75 now. So, do all that you can while you still can do it. Oh, to be 54 again! Please let us know how your healing progresses. Likewise, I am going to post comments as I progress and hopefully can stop taking Sotalol.
