I had a dual PM implanted in 1995 due to sick sinus syndrome.
I fainted two times at home and went to the hospital and was hooked up to a heart monitor. When it happened in the hospital I flat lined for seconds and the diagnosis was made and a PM implanted.
In the beginning of 1996 I returned to my doctor because I felt as though I was going to faint. A check of the pacemaker indicated that the lead wire in upper chamber was not working and it was turned off. Continued to feel as if...

My daughter sometimes experiences a fast heart rate while resting. It usually lasts less than 30 seconds. No problems with dizziness, fainting , or shortness of breath. She says it just feels like her heart is beating faster. No skipped beats or chest pain. She has a congenital heart defect and had a fontan 18 years ago. This is her 4th pacemaker with this pacemaker was put in May 29th. It is an epicardial pacemaker. Anyone else with this experience.

June 13th I go my Dfib/Pacemaker. After 10 days I got my first exam they said my PM went of 85 times. I never felt anything.
After awhile I got used to it and the meds. Well. Aug. 10th I was in the hospital for something else. The day I was to be released I could not catch my breath and lo & behold my defib didn't work.
I went to the CCU for the next week. My Dr. and the Medtronics Rep came the Rep stated the PM worked it was installed incorretly. Meanwhile I had gone thru hell tha...

DURING MY FIRST PACEMAKER, I HAD PULSATIONS IN MY STOMACH AREA, MAYBE ONE OR TWO A DAY. THIS DIDN'T BOTHER ME. NOW AFTER RECEIVING MY SECOND ONE, I HAD A 45 MINUTE BARAGE OF PULSES, APPROX. 80/MIN., AT 3 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT. THIS HAS TAPERED OFF BUT IT STILL HAPPENS AT NIGHT.

Aside from scar sensitivity and my PM shifting and hitting my collar bone, I actually feel WORSE overall since getting my PM.
I have a congenital AV block that wasn't detected until I was 19, and I didn't get my PM until I was almost 35. I was always told I would have more energy and stamina if I were to get a PM... NOT SO! I used to be active and enjoyed going out dancing, swimming, etc. Now I tire going up the stairs.
Also, my internal body temp seems to have gone up...

I've had a defib for about a year now. I got it put in when i was 20 yrs. i was wondering if anyone else gets a weird feeling like someone is poking your chest on the inside. the doc doesn't know why. i assumed it was running its test. it doesn't hurt its just very uncomfortable. it happens twice a night at 1am and 1:30 am. wakes me up every time. its just annoying and i cant seem to find anyone that has this or knows why.

I am 40 years old, a mom of three and very active. I had my first pacemaker placed 8 years ago under the skin. I have had no issues with the pacemaker all this time. I just had my first replacement in July and have had pain and irritation from the new pacemaker. It is very close to the surface of my skin. it sticks out alot more then the 1st one did and it is very uncomfortable expecially when I sleep. (it pokes and runs the skin) The doctor is offering to do a site revision but instead of putti...

Hello All,
A month ago I found out I have Type 2 Diabetes. Now I am on Metformin 500MG twice a day, as well as well as Mirapex 0.5MG for Restless Leg Syndrome
as well as Trazodone 25MG (a sleep aid) at bedtime. I sleep with a CPAP machine due to Sleep Apnea. I am also back on Lasix during the day to alleviate my Edema, and an Asmanex Inhaler for my COPD. I wake up extremely dehydrated, and when I take a sip of water in the morning, my tongue is coated with a grey slime. Could I be over...

Hello fellow bionic peeps!
I had my pacemaker implanted the day before yesterday...feel good, but wound is a bit odd looking? For a start, it's almost horizontal (rather than more vertical like nurse told me it would be). It also has about a third of it looking a bit lumpy top and bottom, and another third the skin below is puckered in?
How does this sound to anyone? I have not managed to find many wound photos on Internet, but when I have they seem to be fairly neat and even? Thanx.....

Hahaha I thought that would get your attention. In may I had a dual chamber device implanted. About 3 days after I came home I felt my abdomen jumping. It was discovered that the atrial lead came out. Surgery performed to reposition lead. Xrays done immediately after and lead had slipped down again. It was discovered that when I'm laying down every thing is fine but when I sit up with large breasts, they pull the slack out of the lead and pull it out. They had to go back in and add some slack a...

Hey I'm a 35 year old female I've had my pacemarker for almost two years now and I hate when it's time to go to bed. I can't find a comfortable way to sleep I lay there until I get to the point if I'm so tried I fell asleep. I just get so upset I just cry. just need some feedback if anyone else is having this trouble or any good sleeping idea... Thanks
