Numbness after implant
by JohnCA - 2016-08-07 19:00:02
Hi Blondie - I had a similar experience. Noticed numbness in left face/arm and right leg after getting home from my device implant that was not there before. Called the Device Clinic and heard the on call doctor yawn as he told me "Definitely nothing we did, but since you are at high risk you are probably having a stroke and should go to the ER." Long night/morning at the ER later found nothing.
For the following months it consistently occured mostly when I lay on my back, but also could happen in the right sitting position. Continued to get the panic "stroke" response every time I asked. Finally got referred to a good neurologist who calmly checked me out throughoughly, agreed there was never a stroke and advised me it was likely the surgery or the multiple day in a hospital bed that caused it. Said it could heal on its own and offered other options if it didn't. By 9 months it was significatly better, a year later 99% gone.
Considering the age of the post, hope yours has gotten better, too. Mostly posting for others searching the same question.

The only numbness I had was in my left arm.
Your symptoms (from this and your other post) sound unusual. Time to see the doctor.
