Sleeping

Hey I'm a 35 year old female I've had my pacemarker for almost two years now and I hate when it's time to go to bed. I can't find a comfortable way to sleep I lay there until I get to the point if I'm so tried I fell asleep. I just get so upset I just cry. just need some feedback if anyone else is having this trouble or any good sleeping idea... Thanks

Sorry to hear that you can't sleep, I first started out like you because I was used to sleeping on my left side so I started to ajust my bed different until I find were I can sleep.I got this bed last year knowing I was going to have the P/M implanted. I had my P/M 8 days now and cam sleep pretty good maybe you should try a ajustable bed at a store and see how you fill. Just my 2 cents. Take care and fill better. AL

I am 62 and have had my ICD for almost 19 months. I feel the same way. Getting comfortable is almost impossible. I end up mostly on my right side and finally fall asleep from pure exhaustion. changing positions usually wakes me up. My device is very close to the skin and sticks out very far. I'm pretty sure I will consider getting it under the muscle when it comes time for a new one.

I had trouble sleeping, but the lead had punched a hole through my heart. When I got that fixed, I had them reduce my lower rate to 55 from 60. It helped a lot since my normal rate was slower (I am very physically active0. On bad nights, I take a couple benadryl and off I go!
