Is it muscular pain or cardiac pain?

My pacemaker was sewn into my pectoral muscle one year after original implant because it had migrated too much. Recently I have pain in the left side every time I deep breathe but it doesn't prevent me from a swim or a walk. My cardiologist says he will place a monitor to detect where exactly the pain is coming from. Does anyone have this experience? Thanks.

Lung function test

Hi all, this is my first time posting, I am on my 7th pacemaker (I am 40 years old), I recently had a health assessment, (a post turning 40 thing, nothing heart related) and I got very bad results on the lung function test. I am not particularly sporty but I am not unfit, and the doc said she thought that maybe all the surgeries I had previously may have affected my lung function, has anyone else heard this?

Just thinking

When I had my cardiac arrest 3 years ago, somehow my tongue got cut pretty bad during the whole carcuffle. I thought it would fully recover but often, I really notice a weird sensation/numbness along the scar. I can particularly feel it today...maybe it was something I ate...I don't know. fatigue after 11 years, 2nd pacer.

I keep reading about all the activity y'all are doing, hiking, walking, sports etc. After 11 years of pacing at 100% ( A year after my 2nd one) I am so tired I can't get out of bed. What is going on?

New to this forum

Hi I am new to this forum. 49 years old and my Zio holter showed advanced grade second degree block with a few pauses (3-5 secs). I am completely asymptomatic, they picked this up incidentally because duting covid of 2020, I got anxious at night and reported palpitations. The EP test revealed no conduction disorder in fall of 2020. But the zio that I wore for the last 2 weeks picked up intermittent blocks, mostly at night but a few during the day. Hi everyone. I wonder if there's any problem taking echo-stress test with pacemaker. Last time I had echo stress test, before pacemaker, they pushed the paddles very strong against the heart.

More than one communication device?

I have a Boston Scientific pacemaker, implanted in 2021.  I travel frequently to a vacation home in another country and, while the base communication device works fine in either place, it would be easier to have two separate ones and not have to carry the one back and forth each time.    

Has anyone done this before?     I thought I'd check here before contacting the manufacturer.

Yellow Pimple

I have a very normal looking small yellow headed pimple on my chest about half an inch below my incision, where the pacemaker is underneath.

It doesn’t look at all like an abscess, just a normal spot. I get these elsewhere on my chest and stomach too sometimes, but not usually so close to the pacemaker. I am wondering if I need to do anything or just treat it like a spot anywhere else. Does anyone else ever get spots on this area and are you advised to do anything?

Day/night mode when the clocks change - daylight savings time?

Hi, I have a new biotronik pacemaker and live in the UK. I have a day and night mode (because I asked for it, I have the impression most patients at my clinic are not offered this) with my floor HR set to 50 at night. 

I am paced much of the time both day and night, and whilst 50 is OK for lying in bed, it is not adequate for me to get up and function. CLS is not yet activated, this will be done at my next check.

Boston Scientific Latitude device interrogation

I had my CRT-P device implanted 3 years ago and was sent home with a Latitude Home Monitor. The Latitude is downloaded and the data reviewed by my care team every 6 months. Does anyone know how detailed their report is?  Is it a full detailed log recording every heartbeat or is it a pre-compiled analysis/report of some sort?

Topical pain med.

I have been prescribed Diclofenac 10% ( strong Voltarin) for sprained ankle/arthritis. 
I'm just wondering if it is wise to use it as it is an Nsaid. I have a bixvent pacemaker for Afib and heart failure. I take ramipril, carvelidol, spironolactone, furosemide and xarelto. Also synthroid due to thyroidectomy from Graves' disease.

I usually use Tylenol for general pain.

I'm interested in other peoples experience or comments.

I've emailed their head office in the USA and the UK head quarters - not even to receive an acknowledgement of receipt

Coming up to second pacemaker

Hey there!  It's been a while since I have been on here - got a Medtronic pacemaker in 2014 following surgical complication from having a mechanical aortic valve inserted,and seem to have slowly stopped coming here as life continued as normal, without any pacemaker issues as far as I can tell.  But I am 100% dependent, and so the battery is getting low. The most recent check, in February, suggests surgery for a replacement is likely in December.

Beta Blockers even with a low blood pressure?

Hello everyone

Has anyone got a low blood pressure but is still fine with Beta Blockers? My blood pressure is usually 80-110 and so the docs have refrained so far from prescribing them. 

Another question, do they help alot in getting arythmia reduced (I have extra beats and what have you not the whole day, my heart is just bouncing around and since I have the arythmia I have a constant dizziness). So I thought I would give it a try anyway and hopefully they would help. The do...

Getting on (with life)

Checked in with my cardiologist yesterday. Reports from Medtronic have shown no afib for over a year. No other "incidents" either. This, along with pulmonary tests in January that showed no change, leads me to believe that I may actually live a while yet! However, as I've been telling my doctors, it sure seems like I ought to feel a lot better than I do. I still have slight shortness of breath with exertion--dr says I should lose the extra weight I put on during lockdown.
