Lots of PVC’s after CRT-P placement

Doc says if metaprolol does not quell pvc’s, may need ablation, early ablation, that is. If PM sees pvc, it does not fire. He wants 100% pacing. If pacing falls below 90%, 80%, due to premature LV contractions it is very much a concern, as ventricles are not in sync. I think, if beta-blocker slows down heart rate sufficiently, PM should get in first and díctate pacing rhythm. If not, the contractions of left ventricle need to be disabled. No doubt th...

I've had my ICD now (on my third one now, a CRT-D) for 10 years. It did it's job with a few shocks early on but VT is fortunately mostly a thing of the past. However over the last 5 or so years I've become quite symptomatic (low blood pressure, syncope) when BiV paced during activity. I thought is was just progression of cardiomyopathy but I couldn't get out of my mind that it was pacemaker induced (I had all the classic symptoms of Pacemaker Synd...

Had my PM 10/19 and there are times it feels like I'm trying to catch my breath. It's not like grabbing my chest shortness, but just feels like I need an extra deep breath. Also I've noticed that my PM feels like it's more bumpy than before. When I had mine put in it didn't seem like it was so close to the surface. Now I can feel all the bumps and ridges of the PM and it's seems like there is a burning feeling every once in awhile. Not like fire burning but it's a...

Hi all. Im 49 and just had a. PM placed 10 days ago as a result of syncope. The PM site is now healing well in spite of a nasty staph infection post surgery. For about the past 5 days,I’ve been having right side neck pain every evening that remains throughout the night. The pain doesn’t worsen with movement and comes with severe difficulty in getting a full breath (almost like when you have to yawn but can’t). Weird I know but this has only been since the PM...

Had my Defribilator in last August. About 3 months after that, I noticed pain around my nipple. I do not ordinary feel any pain unless someone or something touches it or when I lie on it. It is most on the nipple.
Has anyone noticed such? Sometimes I wonder if it is due to the implant because the pain is about 2 inches away from the nipple.
Suggestions or experience sharing please.

Need help. Spouse is 77 and had the second pacemaker installed because the first went bad. Is struggling with swelling on the feet and very painful and water around the heart. Was doing good but primary dr saw some changes to her kidneys and wanted to reduce some of the meds. This created a tailspin and for the last week has been hardly able to walk due to swollen and painful feet. The heart dr had her put back on the regular meds and she is doing better but it’s been a slow process. Sh...

New to this forum and could really use some help. Three months ago my husband had a pacemaker implanted and hasn't been the same since. It seems that with any small exertion he becomes lightheaded. This lasts for about a minute and then he stabilizes. It is almost as though his pacemaker isn't able to keep up with him. We are so new to this device and I am doing everything I can to be supportive. We have seen the cardiologist along with the Abbott p...

Morning All
I’m seven months post dual chamber pm and generally it’s been fine, it’s set low and for infrequent as it seems I’m sensitive to the pain when it paces, but generally seems OK.
Except, 4 weeks ago I started getting similar symptoms to those which caused me to head to the doc, fatigue climbing the stairs, lightheartedness, short of breath, poor sleep, waking up exhausted, sweating after little effort.
I’m back se...

Hello everyone. Several doctors, including a couple at UCLA, have told me my case is highly unusual, so bear with me while I explain. In late 2017, I contracted a common virus. For some reason, it attacked my heart (myocarditits) and I went to the ER with bradycardia. The virus disabled the electrical system of my heart, so I had a pacemaker installed. From the onset, one lead, the one in my atrium, has not worked. For the past 18 months, I've struggled with fatigue and shortness of...

I have so much to be grateful for I must remember that. I came thru the first time and don't want if I don't to go thur another another surgery.
I will see a friend of family who is a fine plastic surgeon which somone suggested I see that may be...

Good afternoon. I had my PM implanted 10/26/2018. I am still experiencing pain around the PM is this normal. I am not sure if it is because of my job or not. All of my doctors say that it is workin just fine. I am a School Bus Attendant, the streets in my county is very bumpy and sometimes i can feel it move a little, my doctors wont,n give me anything for the discomfort but told me to takeTylenol. Does anyone think that maybe I should shorten my hours or work 4 days a week instead of 5 days....

Saw my Doctor this past week and he said it was up to me if I wanted repositioned. That has scared me as I made it thru the first surgery happily. I don't think that I could put myself thru it again. I don't think that it is happy where it is but looking at the long view, I had a blood clot after the surgery which I a still battling so I am going to take a back seat for a while till I get some things ironed out. However that having been said I thank you all for the kind information. T...

Hi,
I haven't been on here in quite some time now. I received a pacemaker over 2 years ago (still love it) but am having low blood pressure lately. Last night it was 87 over 56. I checked it for about 15 minutes on and off and the highest it got was 96 over 64. I went to the ER last week over this and they sent me home after watching me 6 hours and told me to followup with my EP. But they can't see me until May 14th.
An...

My pacemaker has moved from my collarbone to approching under my arm. For 3 months after placement it has steadily moved but now it is hurting, sort of this low level kind of pain. Is there enough slack in the leads lines for the pacemaker to move around and this far without getting detached?
Thank you,
rvcJoan

One day in 2011, I fell down on my kitchen floor, the EMTs took me to the hospital and I was diagnosed with Bradycardia ( slow heart rate), they implanted a St Jude’s PM and discharged me next day. For almost eight years I didn’t have any problem until in October of 2018 when I almost blacked out sitting in the passenger seat of my car. I called my primary physician and he told me to go to the ER, there they interrogated my PM and found that I have Tachycardia (fast heart rate). D...
