I'm sure this is normal, but I'm a newbie and started back to some mild exercises this week and have noticed some generalize dizziness. My PM was placed due to asytole and it's set at 50 for my low number and 180 for my top range! I'm sure it's normal I am only 2.5 weeks out but today I just feel off and tired and sore! I would greatly appreciate any information. I have been off my beta blocker since the PM implant and I am scheduled to go back in for a follow up on 6/19! Thank you!!

Hello, Everyone,
My husband has a PM since last year. He is 79 years old, a formal runner. He was in ER today, because he felt short of breath, as if "not enough oxygen into brain and body". he is generally healthy, but such symptoms happened several times since the implant. Every time the doctors said there is nothing wrong, but he felt very badly.
Is it normal for him to feel that way? Can anyone help me to explain to him what has been going on?
thank you,
Jane

Hi all
I'm still on a "high" after getting my new job yesterday!
So, this other news may be a bit of a shock to all. It certainly is to me!
On Thursday, the day of my job interview, I received a copy of the clinic letter my EP has sent to my GP....following my clinic appt with him on 13th May. Here in the UK they send the patient a copy of all clinic letters.
Fortunately I got the letter after my interview!
I had an echo scan in Feb. In this clini...

I have been advised that I require the above for a Paragangioma of the neck. I am still waiting to hear from my Cardiologist as to whether it is ok to have this procedure. It has always been my undrstanding that having a PM stopped you getting an MRI Scan. My PM is a Metronic Sensia SEDR01 if anyone could give me any information on the subject, it would be very much appreciated.

Hey guys! Since the weather is starting to get warmer.. I have been experiencing some dizziness and sob.. I have been really good lately.. The only time I have felt horrible is when it starts to get hot out. I called the doctor to let him know I haven't been feeling good and he thinks its low blood pressure and being on a beta blocker makes your blood pressure even lower. I never had a problem with low blood pressure even had a title table testing done and it was normal .. I have been drinking t...

Hi, I have had a pacemaker for a few years now, apart from the initial upset at having it fitted I am accustomed to it. Does anyone out there know anything about Induction Hobs, we have to have a new one this year and I would like to buy Induction as it seems to be quicker (we have no gas in our village so have to have electric) and better but have heard adverse reports about pacemakers, although I go through security at airports with no problem at all. Any advice or help would be greatly appr...

This is my first post to this site, and for the most part I have been fantastic after receiving my Medtronic Revo pacemaker. I had a syncopal episode in January of 2012 where I was unconscious for a brief period of about 30 seconds, and doctors had no idea what the reasoning for my episode was. Several tests and doctors later, I had an EP study with subsequent ablation performed for SVT which helped with a lot of the palpitations I was feeling at the time. As time went on though I continued t...

Hi everyone,
I haven't been on here in quite some time. I had my PM implanted in February of 2010 for bradycardia & a 2nd degree AV block. A little background- In 2001 I had an ablation for v-tch, it would go up into the 200's & stay until I went to sleep. I hung in with it for 3 months (pregnant) & had the ablation following the birth of my boy. It went pretty well, though we aren't sure that the scar tissue caused by it wasn't the cause of the AV block that I developed. I'm 33, normal w...

Looking for reassurance! My pacemaker was implanted on 4/4/13 for the first time due to bradycardia. Had to have lead displacement surgery on 4/26/13 and again on 5/13/13. Doctor said the hook in the lead had straightened out both times and needed to be placed in the hook position again. If the last surgery does not get the "hook to hold", he said I would need major surgery to attach the leads to the outside of the heart chambers. Can anyone give me any info or advice about what is happening wi...

Just had my pm (double lead, on demand) re-installed for the 4th time, actually 5th time counting the first operation. What is going on? Each time healing gets closer and I feel better, then on a check up the wound is found to be a little bit open -- Dr. could see metal, etc. -- and it's a fast trip back to the or, with of course a month or so of re-healing.
I talked my Dr into inserting it into/under a muscle after hearing that this was an accepted procedure for another Dr. My Drs s...

I am posting for my mom (biotronik pm) ...She was telling me since the last adjustment that was made due to problem when she was on a bumpy road that she has another issue. For the past 2 weeks each night at precisely 945pm that her heart starts racing for about 40-45 seconds. Well last night I hooked her upto the cardiac monitor (I am a Paramedic) and at exactly 945 with her sitting quietly in the chair her Pacemaker fired up and the monitor went crazy and showed a Pacemaker Rhythm at 150 p...

For the past few weeks, after placement of my pacemaker (I call her PacieMay), I feel like I have a nervous condition. It feels like "butterflies in your stomach" only it is in my chest area. It would only happen once a week...but this last episode has lasted 3 days.
When I asked the tech at the clinic, she said it was because I can feel my heart beating. No. I don't think so. I am nauseated from it. It doesn't happen when I am sleeping. Only when I am awake.
I plan on se...

Hello there. . hope this finds you all coping and well. I have now had my PM for 9 months and had been feeling really good, once the rate had been increased from 60bpm to 75bpm after my 3 mth checkup.
Unfortunately, in the past 2 weeks I have suddenly developed this stiffness at the base of my neck which in turn makes it difficult to turn my head fully to either side. It also causes at least 2 headaches a day. . . The end of my shoulders are also tender, especially if I "squeeze" into...
