Am new to the site. My husband has a Biotronik Evia DR-T pacemaker implanted in 2012. Since then a lead has failed but they got in on a different channel. He is having troubles with it where it seems to "jump time" is the easiest way to explain it. It adds an extra beat in or pauses two seconds before kicking in. Is anyone else having these issues? What did the doctors do about it? The docs and the Biotronik reps do an adjustment but it only works for a little while. He had the same issue in...

Hi
I don't have a pace maker but my elderly mother does, I just received a call from her nursing home informing me that despite her pressure being normal her heart is beating at 120 a min, which is definately not normal for her . The PM is 18 months old and this is the first instance of this. Any suggestions? Does this happen often, she is 95 and failing healthwise .

I'm writing for my dad. He is 85 and has congestive heart failure with an ejection fraction of 20% He has had a PM/ICD for 4 years. His ICD has fired several times during the last year. He describes the pain as, "feeling like my head exploded". He did not feel any pain in his chest. He has mentioned this to the doctors and they seem to dismiss it. My dad now has post traumatic stress from the ICD firing. He is convinced that he has a brain injury from this, he can't find anyone who can logically...

Thank you all who commented on my problem
I live in Arizona age 72. I am in California at a major teaching hospital.
I have a team of doctors and I can't get any one of them to back up each others stories.
Last night one doctor said I had to wait an additional two weeks before going home. My other doctor told me if I had three days with no infection in blood they would put permanent pacemaker in.
Now the story is this. I had four days infection free...

I am sitting in a major hospital 5 hours from my home. Came here for an alcohol septal ablation
Ablation success. Came down with infected blood and low platelets. Have been here for two weeks getting daily blood drawn. Have been infection free for four days. Platelets are at 115.
Dr of health insists I need to spend two more weeks in hospital before going home. I would get home health care
I am currently wearing a temporary pacemaker on my right chest....

Hi, I had my pacemaker- dual chamber implanted on my left side about three weeks ago. I had it placed between my left breast and arm pit due to I didn't want placed on my chest. I woke up this morning and my left arm was feeling very sore. My arm and hand swelled up and my arm was really tight. I went to the ER and had an ultra sound done and no signs of blood clot so will follow up with my cardiologist next week. Has anybody else had this issue?, and if so what caused it if it wasn't a blo...

New to this site, fortunately. I have sick sinus syndrome. Cardiac arrest. Fainted in kitchen. Went to ER next morning. Code Blue! Flatlined in ER. CPR and prep for temp PM.
Surgery at 7:30pm. In ICU they strapped my leg down to prevent puncture of the lung or heart with the leads if I bent the leg. The leads were fed from the right groin to the heart. The PM was supposed to be installed at 11the next morning. It was delayed until 7:30 that night. So they put the leads in but during the n...

I am a 59 year old female, almost 6 months post-op for a Medtronic Sensia dual chamber PC. I also have severe chronic bronchial asthma. I have been housebound with a severe episode of bronchial asthma (no pneumonia this time) for almost 6 weeks now. The lungs are mostly clear, but I am getting tach bouts of 125 - 140 bpm everytime I get off my chair to do anything. It takes awhile for them to finally go down to normal. I have been on heavy duty steroids and antibiotics for the asthma for 5...

My device migrated under my arm ... new surgeon said I never had enough muscle to keep it in place and that he wouldn't have ever put it under my muscle (I have a pretty runty upper body) ... so I had it moved the day before thanksgiving.
He was supposed to go through the original incision, but I woke up with a second incision about an inch and a half under the original one. When he came into my hospital room to explain things I had JUST been given pain medication so was in no condit...

My mom had a pm put in six weeks ago because she was diagnosed with bradycardia. Three days later had surgery to replace the pm because the first one failed. Today I took her to hospital fearing the worst yes it appears she is going to need surgery again because the pm isn't working, possible lead pulled away. Mom is 75 and not ready to do this again, I really need some advice. What should we do? What questions should I be asking? Should I insist on a different cardiologist?
Thanks,

I have had a pacemaker for seven years with no problems. Over the last few nights my heart suddenly beats harder. It does not last long. The pacemaker was put in for complete heart block. It is just odd that I have never felt this. Anyone out there had same problem?
Is this normal?

Hi has anyone had longterm problems following a subclavian blood clot? Can't get far with medical staff and no follow up in place-frequently get shoulder aching/discomfort that conincides with similar down arm and across clavicle. I had some clot leftover before stopping Coumadin and told this normal. Already been to see the doctor to say that it is slowly getting worse and didn't bat an eyelid! Is it just damage from old clot or could a new one form slowly months after the original op or clo...
