I've been having mild chest pain since they put the pacemaker in three weeks ago only when I take a deep breath does this happen to others? Also I get 2 steady beats and then one really hard beat that didn't happen before the implant

Strange stuff

My chest got "tight" because I wasn't able to exercise as much. Now when I start to exercise I get the tight chest and pain going down the left arm. (My PM is on the left side.) But the pain goes away as I do more exercise. As my body starts to grow around the PM and I do more regular exercise the pain will go away. (It's already dropped by half with the mild exercise I've been able to do so far.) So yours should get better too.
You may feel extra beats as the PM settles in. My heart wanted to do the same old thing and the PM wouldn't let it. So the heart would pause like it always did and the PM would kick it into doing a regular beat. I hadn't felt that for a while and it seemed strange to feel it.
You may also notice either pain or thumping in your jaw on the PM side and some mild pain. The vein under your collar bone where the leads were implanted may be sensitive and since it's a new feeling your brain may be having trouble adjusting to the new feelings. As the PM settles in the new sensations will go away.
Hang in there. Life gets better.

The trouble breathing is probably just because you aren't moving normally, that makes muscles tighten up. But! Any chest pain should always be evaluated.
The beats could be that your settings need adjusted. They often start it turned up a little high until the leads settle in and the heart gets used to pacing, then they turn it down at the first check. And sometimes the other settings they start us with need to be tweaked. Also keep in mind we are much more aware of our heart beat in the weeks following a pm implant, so we notice things we never paid attention to before.
