Hi. Hoping people here can give me some advice.12 years agio i had a pacemaker put in and as a complication suffered a blood clot in the subclavian. Two months ago i had the pacemaker unit replaced because of a low battery but the leads were not replaced. This was a difficult operation as they had trouble detaching the leads from the old pacemaker.Since the operation i have had increasing amounts of pain in my bicep area, some pain in the shoulder region and occasional numbness in the fingers.I also have a minor amount of swelling in the breast area.I am also suffering occasional headaches.
Today i had a visit to the hospital and had x rays and ulta sounds done. They said they could find nothing wrong and suggested the arm pain could be from deep bruising from the operation two months earlier.
Can anyone offer me some advice on what i should do next.
Thanks

Pain
by Marianyork - 2013-12-12 07:12:09
I had a PM put in three weeks ago and suffered severe shoulder pain which went down my arm and my fingers left small and ring finger had pins and needles. The pain was far worse than the PM op site and lasted for about two weeks. Cardiologist said the nerves were probably being pinched and it would subside eventually.
I put a post here asking if anybody had this same pain and somebody responded with, it could be a rotor cuff tear from being stretched on the table. Fortunately it has subsided in the last couple of days, only
treatment has been rubbing and heat packs. Hope that helps,
Cheers
