Painful PVCs

I will be posting a strip from my Samsung watch in the gallery. I have had PVCs as long as I can remember, like everyone else. Most of the time they are just a single thud that I feel in my chest, but every once in awhile I will get them in a pattern. I do have symptoms when it is a prolonged episode of them. Since my ablation I have been having these prolonged episodes much more often in what I'm assuming are bigeminy and trigeminy. This particular run of them was actually painful, which...

Closed Loop Simulation (CLS)

Hi there.  I've read quite a few other posts on this subject but (as everyone always thinks ;-)) none quite match my situation.

I'm a pretty fit and active 62-y-o in England who walks lots and runs at least one and often 2 or more 5km runs each week.

But I'd been really struggling since the Spring.  After tests, I was fitted with a pacemaker for total heart block in August.  It's a Bitronik.  Accoring to the certificate it's mode...

Pacemaker

Does anyone with a pacemaker out there ever feel when their heart rate is changing. You don't feel dizzy or light headed and you don't have a head ache but your head feels slightly different at times?  My heart rate is between 63 and100 according to what i'm doing. My pacemaker was put in about 11 months ago and i had a complete heart block.

92% paced in atrium

Hello! My EP informed me that my atrium is now pacing 92%.  I understand this to mean that my upper chamber is only beating 8% on its own at the 70bpm pm setting.  Is there anyone else experiencing a similar issue / decline?

Anyone with Diabetes and using Abbott, FreeStyle Libre 2 continuous glucose monitor?

Hello, does anyone use the Abbott, FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor to monitor their glucose levels?  Have you had any difficulties using it with your pacemaker?

Last night I changed my husband’s 14 day sensor, placing it on his left upper arm for the first time (at his request).  My iPhone/FreeStyle App couldn't scan the new sensor and kept telling me to replace it.  Eventually I had to remove the faulty sensor and to place a new on...

From pacemaker to Defibrillator

Just had a pacemaker check and was expecting a possible date for battery change.

Instead, I was informed that I may be switched to a defibrillator.

My initial response was a firm NO.

After decades of severe arrhythmias, I had decided a long time ago that having a final cardiac event was likely the only bonus to this electrical problem.

Am I correct in assuming that a defibrillator would prevent a final cardiac event by kick starting a failing heart?

Dont get me w...

ICD connection with loss of memory

My "heart story" is that of quite an interesting journey, but long story short, I had a dual ICD inserted in January of 23 along with an ablation for atrial flutter.  I continued with extreme fatigue and episodes of afib (no more a-flutter) and pvcs.  In September, the dr and ICD tech adjusted the settings on my ICD -- one of those tweaks being that they turned on Rate Response.  The tweaking didn't seem to help -- in fact, I think I have felt worse.  Then a...

Slight lightheaded feeling

I had my Medtronic pacemaker put in April 3rd after passing out numerous times on April 1 and the hospital said I was suffering from 3rd degree AV heart block.  Things are going pretty well but every once in a while after sitting for a period of time I will get up and for a brief second or two feel slightly lightheaded and then I'm fine.  Does anyone else have this happen to them?  I'm thinking that might be the pacemaker kicking in when the heart beat slows down becaus...

High heart rate

Up until now I have had no reason to complain. I am 85 years old  with Abbot 2172 implanted 15 March 21 due to going A Fib 3 times. I woke up this morning feeling real dizzy. Checked my BP was 129/94. HR 115. No sign of it going down.
The real kicker is my wife and 2 girls just left for Jamaica for a week so I have the house to myself. I'm going to put a call into the Cardiac unit to see if I can get in there today. Or. Call an ambulance and go to the ER.

Max Leads

I am very curious to find out how many leads each person has and how many have had extractions.  It is good to know as a younger person what possibilities are but also how people are functioning presently. If anyone got a leadless did you get extraction or just cap the leads after? thanks

New pacemaker up date

I am now just 1 week and 6 days into my dual chamber PM. Things are ok most of the time but I get terrible pain on the site of the implant when I first sit up/ stand up after waking. It passes off after a couple of minutes and I am left with an ache in the shoulder area. It feels as if the device drops  under gravity as  I rise up!! I still have some swelling and I am trying to keep my shoulder moving but that is painful sometime too. Anyone had any experience of this. Thanks&n...

Follow up Echo

Hi all.  It's been 7 weeks since I got my new battery, Medtronic dual chamber.  The echo I had today showed my EF was unchanged, 45%.
It said I have  mild concentric hyper trophy.  I am not on any heart meds, am not overweight and don't have high BP.  Don't smoke or drink.
EF was 55-60% in 2016.
Anyone been Dx'ed with this?  Thanks as always.

I will be following up with my cardiologist.

Upper Rate Setting for Cyclist Boston Sci L131

I went in for my follow up 11 weeks after implant. I talked openly about my settings along with what some of my cyclist friends have shared with me. Dr said he normally only made 1 change at a time since one change can affect another setting. They changed my RightRate (MV) from 10 to 12. I asked about my Upper Rate which was set @ 140 (I've hit 160bpm a couple of times going hard on hills during mountain bike rides: MTB). ***Dr did say he would increase my Upper Rate to 170 also...

Lightheaded

I've been on 160 mg of valsartan, 12.5mg of carvidellol, 5mg of amlodepine and 5mg of rosuvastatin since April.  I take them morning and evening.  Two times this  week, in the morning, I felt lightheaded, once when bending over to clean oven and the other time standing when cooking.  Both times were after taking morning medications.  I take blood pressure every morning and evening. They've been normal.  For My evening reading, I take it sitting and standi...

Are dual chamber leadless pacemakers now routinely implanted? Or are they still being trialed?

Unexplained up and down of HR after 30 min or HR >= 150

Hello all,
I have a pacemaker because of an AV Block II/III and I am an active runner (several marathons). My cardiologist and I have completely tested the "MEDRONIC Ensura" as far as the limits are concerned. The pacemaker is set to DDD.
After a certain time or reaching a HR >=150 the system periodically takes me back about 10 beats and after about 6sec again 10 beats up. (in Polar Flow you can see the phenomenon very well).
Now I suspect that maybe th...
