Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with having balloon venoplasty or angioplasty with PM leads in same site? If so I would be very grateful to hear all.
I have problems with subclavian that aren't rectifiable by alternative means and highly symptomatic.
Thank you in advance.

I received a new generator and lead about two years ago when one of my leads fractured. This week I started to get an intermittent muscle twitch in my chest kind of on the top inside of my left breast. It is starting to occur more frequently. After having a lead fail I am extremely paranoid of more problems. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried about this twitch in regards to my pacer?

Has anyone had afib and stopped ALL alcoholic beverages and noticed a significant change in your heart rhythm ? I'm going in for an ablation the end of the month. I drink about two beverages a day.
Thanks!

Hi,
I am very grateful for this forum. I wish I could have contributed more, but I haven't had much time to myself lately. I have a quick question.
I had a dual chamber pacemaker implanted in early December. Initially, I had some complications with my incision, i.e. the stitches fell out on one end, and the knot on the other end had to be removed. I thought that the incision had finally healed and haven't given my pacemaker much thought. Two days ago, I started exp...

Ok so i have a clot now which i am being treated with blood thinners but heres my question. I guess i grew new veins due to the one being blocked and i hate them, their all over the shouldet and chest on the side of pacemaker, saw the doc today and stated that once my vein clears that those veins should go away. Has anybody else had this happen and if so did urs disappear with time? I know this sounds silly but the appearnce of them really bother me.

It's been a while since I have been on site.
I am 64 years old in pretty good health considering
My pacemaker history: 20 years 100% paced on my fourth pacer
I have had 6 ablations for afib/flutter
After each ablation I would be OK (in sinus rhythm) for up to one year but each time Afib - Aflutter would come back.
I am done with ablations. I figure there is not much left of my upper chambers as I have been burned as high as 90 times during these procedures.
I am b...

My mom has had her pacemaker for a couple of years now. A couple of days ago suddenly doesn't "feel well". Weak, seems confused, says she's in severe pain. Is in hospital now, all blood tests and xrays are normal. Can this be related to her pacemaker? Just wondering what any of you think.

I was out in the desert this last weekend, and all of a sudden, I got a bunch of "flutters" and then a couple of real BIG heart thumps. I got light headed also. Got real scared, enough to call my wife to come out a 100+ miles to pick me up. I went to emergency, they put a monitor on, did a EKG, that showed tthese "bigeminies". I stayed in the hospital for two days so they could determine what the cause could be. Very scary.
Any input would be appreciated.

I got my pacemaker in late December 2013 and am having residual throat problems. When I woke up after routine placement surgery I couldn't take a deep breath and swallowing was difficult. No anesthesia was used so I couldn't figure out what was going on. It slowly improved somewhat over the next weeks, but since then my throat has alternately felt "mushy."
I finally went to the ENT after weeks of pain in my trachea worsening with deep breaths or bending over. He seemed reluctant...

hi - I am new to this site and am hoping to find some answers. I am from India. My father had an icd implanted in October 2013. It got infected in Feb 2014 and needs to be extracted along with the leads. The laser technique for extraction is not available in India. Has anyone had to have a lead extraction after 5 months and how difficult is it going to be without laser? We are worried sick and are looking for some help.
wishing everyone here good health,
thanks,
asmita

In August 2013 I had a morning where I fainted twice, so went to Emergency room at the hospital. One more faint/seizure in the waiting room and another when hooked up to monitors where they found my heart was pausing (18 seconds that time). Had a temporary pacemaker put in that day and permanent Medtronic Advisa MRI D put in a couple days later.
It was almost 4 months before I felt like it had fully healed, but was feeling OK by December ... except for waking up with a headache most mornin...

Help! My husband is 9 days out from his pacemaker procedure and I can't convince him to be careful! Today I caught him lifting our 30 pound dog and yesterday he was dragging a cinder block across the patio. To make things a little dicier, he was diagnosed with blood clots in his arm 3 days ago and now on anticoagulants for at least 3 months. Does anyone know if anticoagulants affect or slow down the implantation process? Since the cardiologist is not the prescribing doctor of the anticoagulant,...
